I was in a new refurbished room in the new part of the building, the room itself was lovely, decor and bathroom all excellent and and bed very comfortable. Staff very friendly.
Although the room was excellent it was a ground floor room which looked out over the carpark so when I opened the curtains I was faced with the view of a white van, luckily I was there in December so any time I was in the room the curtains were closed however I wouldn't like this room in the summer. Staff have suggested that I could request a different room on my next stay and I look forward to the refurbishment of the rest of the rooms
Small size; good location; comfortable rooms. My Oxford hotel of choice.
Would welcome a full business centre with PCs for guest use - but absence of this wouldn't stop me stayiing again.
We were moved to a different room on complaining about the disco in the restaurant below us at 10.45pm.
No lift Shoddy room decor No towel rail Smelly towels Poor soundproofing Stuffy room
Location Friendly staff Ease of check-in/out
Breakfast and parking were seperate costs despite the room rate being so high. The pillows were useless! There was a constant humming sound in the room. Not a major deal but the quality of the toliet tissue was very poor given how much was charged for the room.
Location Decor Room size Bar staff very good
Lack of warmth shown by reception Car parking palaver
Great location, wifi, helpful staff, comfy beds.
Rushed out of room early on 2 out of 3 mornings as staff wanted to clean. Once while still getting dressed and when we said come back later, she wanted to know how many minutes later. Banging of cleaning cupboard door next to room could be felt when lying in bed. Noise from car park, car doors banging outside. Workmen noisy on Saturday morning. Tea bags not replaced during stay, needed to ask at bar.
Location is excellent. Breakfast is good
Room is a bit small. The window is broken and cannot be opened.
pleasant room, nice welcome, great location, clean, nice dining room & a nice breakfast with attentive staff.
the car park was a little cramped to say the least!!!! It was ok for us as we didn't really need our car while we were there but if we did there would have to be a lot of moving other cars to let us in & out!!!!
The location was fantastic with parking
Mould all around the bath.
Great location Very helpful, friendly staff Room was very quiet and comfortable.
Very expensive for the quality of hotel. Towels could have been more luxurious, bathroom was quite tired and basic.
Difficult to find a better location that this one.
The floor was extremely dirty (e.g. candy papers under bed etc.) its was very hot in the room and it was not possible to properly open the windows since one would just open 1 cm and the other one would not open at all. The hotel is old and would need some refurbishment. For this price AND location you can definitely find better in Oxford! I will not come here again.
Great Reception Staff
Central location in Oxford, and a car park
The location was perfect, very central. The bed was amazingly comfortable!
Considering the price, the room was not that fantastic and if you looked closely was quite faded and tatty. The food was average at breakfast and totally ruined for me by undercooked sausages - we complained but were totally fobbed off by the supercilious waiter who declared they were 'meant to be like that'. Hmm.
Poached eggs for breakfast - but not the exorbitant price!
This Mecure Oxford property is in the same league as a tacky B&B or a Youth Hostel. Dirty carpets and paint-work, blocked sinks, broken pedal bins, no jug for making tea ... Don't waste your money staying here at any discounted offer. Don't be fooled by the reception décor - it's nothing like the dirty, tatty and dated rooms.
The staff were very friendly and bad area lovely
Rate was a bit high for one night stay on a Saturday night
Fabulous location to explore the city centre and the welcoming staff were very helpful. Great hotel and good value for money.
Excellent staff helpfulness, excellent breakfast
First room we were shown was very small but we were able to switch
Lovely staff, clean and comfortable rooms, excellent location for sight seeing. Hotel runs it's own tours of Oxford
Paying for parking! The books pattern wallpaper in the bar.
Excellent location. Free in room coffee/tea/refreshments. Clean, comfortable and spacious room. Good breakfast.
Inept reception clerk.
Very pleasant hotel in a convenient area for exploring Oxford
Very cold rooms; windows not closing properly & cold air drift in the room.
Hotel is good located near all main busstops and Highstreet. They have beautiful breakfast, only lettuce, tomatoes and cucumber were missing( scandibavian wish). Room was nice and cosy, but the best was extremely helpful staff especially Patricia at reception.
