The location . The historic feel. The good service at a reasonable price. The layout of the room. The noise from the corridor and the plumbing. The fact that I could'nt leave my car there the following afternoon even though I was told that I could.

We particularly liked the bar/lounge area which was stylish and relaxing. The hotel was well situated in the centre of town, we had a comfortable bedroom and although small it was quite sweet being in the roof eaves. Generous bathroom and very nice towels! The room was very hot and we had to have air con on all night which although not very noisy, did disturb my sleep. I think the car parking charge is a bit expensive considering the cost of room.

We booked double rooms with the hotel back in September last year and these requirements weren't met and the group were split into single room and some doubles. I was disgusted with the way we were treated and this spoilt the stay for my birthday weekend. I will never stay in this hotel again to be honest I've stayed in better travel lodges and I will certainly not be recommending this hotel

Superb location in centre of city. Pleasant lounge. Location - difficult to find. Need a notice at entrance to Merton St as that is where the entrance is, not the High st. (False information) Car park limited

Despite requesting double bed on 'Booking' web site they had put me in a twin. They said it was an upgraded room. Initially staff said I not specifically requested a double bed, but I showed them on the I pad that I demonstrably had requested it. They then said it had not been communicated to them. Clearly there is a breakdown in communication somewhere.

Location was superb, view onto High Street and (other window) Examination Halls, right in the middle of the city, easy stroll to all the sights and shops - plus pubs and restaurants. Try the Chequers pub for good menu and choice of beer. Parking was trouble free. Breakfast particularly good, with wide choice of cooked meal delivered to table, with good buffet back up of fruit etc. Bed comfortable and bedroom and bathroom spacious. Staff helpful and happy. Shower could have been more powerful. Maximum TV volume still not good enough, but that is often the case in hotels, unfortunately. Central heating needed to be balanced by opening windows - not the end of the world.

The staff were extremely helpful and approachable. The location was excellent as it was in the centre of Oxford. Breakfast menu was good and having the time of breakfast until 10.30 on a weekend was very much appreciated! You had to be very persuasive with the flush (room 206)

The bed was very comfortable and the rooms and public areas are nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. The bar staff were very nice and efficient. It is in a great location and even though it's central it was nice and quiet. The reception staff were a bit unfriendly and not very welcoming.
