Score from 1199 reviews Very good
staff very friendly and helpful
bathroom dirty and heating not working
The location and breakfast was great.
The heating was stuck on full, no dressing table for doing hair and make up. Shower was more like a trickle
Comfy bed, clean room and breakfast was really good. We stayed for one evening and was good for the price we paid. Central location.
Some of the fixings could be improved lots of wires around the tv on show. Could do with being finished off in the refurbished rooms.
The location was fab breakfast fab
The room was too small there was no valance on bed and I think somebody had been sick as it had been scrubbed the carpet and still wet you stepped on it every time you went to the bathroom
Great breakfast, spotless bathroom with clean towels.
No hair dryer in the room.
Close to shops, restaurants and pubs
A little bit dated but good value for money
No one ever on reception
The central position
The shower was very poor - long time to warm up then a dribble you couldn't control
The quality of the bed.
Quality of the walls when next door occupancy put music on TV at maximum volume and I could here everything. Bought at bar a soda and lime for £0.60 one night next day the lady charged me £1.20 in the presence of the person who served me the previous time , it didn't feel right.
poor facilities like shower faulty, old furnitures
I have stayed here several times it's a great location and staff are great and the breakfast is fantastic proper mushrooms and bacon,
Tv reception was not good,
No plug poor WFI
Location is central
Rattling windows in the wind and loud music until 2am Broken bin lid flew off when foot pedal pressed and TV had no signal. Central heating so high felt nauseus and couldn't adjust radiatior.
An excellent hotel with very friendly and accommodating staff. Excellent Breakfast by the canal which was a joy. Room clean and welcoming.
It was all lovely
Only the location
Heating stuck on all day and night so roasting when in the rooms, stains and crust on the 1950s sheets bathroom half finished being built poorly maintained rooms windows not fitted properly so lots of noise from outside
location very clean bed quiet room overlooking canal breakfast
lights on timer switches
The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was lovely. Location was good. Staff friendly enough.
The hotel is very small, avoid it if you suffer from claustrophobia as the rooms are small. The hotel is tired and needs refurbishment, broken tiles in the ensuite etc. I thought the hotel was over priced as it was more of a bed and breakfast, not really a hotel.
Position and breakfast
Hole in the bed linen and shower did not work!
Location, breakfast, warm, clean and friendly staff
Shower area needs updating
City centre location
Although the hotel was clean and the staff were pleasant, the hotel, in parts, needs a revamp to bring it up to date. For example, our bedroom looked like it hadn't been decorated for a while.
Very close to the station and only a short walk to the city centre. Nice staff - very helpful. Good breakfast in the morning. Have stayed a couple of times before and not disappointed.
Good location. Bed linen was clean.
Advertised on booking.com as having own parking, which it didn't. Rooms were shabby. Shower didn't get hot and wouldn't turn off, locks on door didn't work - had to get staff to open. Shower and lock issue were known to staff. Temperature in room unbearable, had to sleep with window open despite December weather!
Friendly staff, great location, warm room and shower, good breakfast.
Only one power point behind tv so had to unplug tv to plug in kettle, hair straighteners etc. Basically could only have one appliance on at a time.
Location was nice
Was a bit rough
clean room ,comfy bed on suite , hot breakfast was ok and plenty of other choices
couldn,t turn heating down so opened a window. shower not very good water flow but did manage to shower
