Holiday Inn Express Cambridge  

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Cambridge on Saturday 15th October. My initial thoughts were positive but did not get to our room until around 8pm after a long day sight seeing. The first thing I noticed was the room was located on the first floor, not the ground floor as requested on my booking. At some time in the late/early hours I was awoken by a great deal of noise from what sounded like a large group of men. This also happened fairly early on Sunday morning too. The room was also unbearably hot all night! When I raised all these complaints with the receptionist upon checkout I was told that I should have raised the noise issue at the time - this was the middle of the night and I was half asleep! I was also told that the noise was due to a group of students staying at the hotel for 1 month and she got daily complaints regarding the noise. I did exect some form of compensation for all matters raised but was told that she hoped that I would have better luck next time I stayed. I am a fair customer and 1 thing alone would not warrant a complaint, that is life - but several did impact my stay and would again expect the courtesy of this complaint being recognised. It would deter me from using Holiday Inn again and I do use hotels fairly regularly for both business and pleasure - this is the first time I have complained.

If you want a base to visit Cambridge it is ideal also they have a arrangement with David Lloyd centre next door if you into tennis or keep fit their swimming pool is also ideal

Good value, spacious, excellent breakfast

The positive and courteous staff, in particular Rohan.

Slightly difficult to get into town when traffic is busy.

Excellent clean facilities, friendly staff who could not do enough!

Hotel was a bit isolated, as there was nothing in walking distance, and bus or car is needed to get to the city centre.

The hotel was in good condition, and was a very good value for money.

One issue with the holiday inn Cambridge would be the exceptionally high charges on food. There are few option close by hence sensing the competition they should have priced accordingly.

24/7 bar. Friendly helpful staff. Minimum of fuss. Clean cheerful room pleasantly lit.

Not enough tea coffee sugar and maybe you could provide a couple of biscuits ;-)

The eco friendly way of thinking. The friendlyness of the staff.

The small tv in the room. The door between the rooms gave the feeling somebody could enter the room every time.

Breakfast was awfull and very poor standard.

Staff were great

It was just great

Comfortable, quiet, good breakfast.

Lobby/bar area was cold.

No hot water to shower with breakfast much the same food all cold for 100 pounds nite never again
