Nice hotel nice pub across the car park, excellent all round
The location wasn't good for us because we traveled to St. Albans and Watford but that is our fault taxi expensive
Room layout for clothes storage very convenient Breakfast was lovely, buffet style, excellent croissants Parking Lovely location on canal with marina, pub, Indian restaurant and Italian restaurant all close by £119 for 2 nights for 2 people
the location by the canal is lovely, rooms and beds were clean and comfortable and all the staff were very friendly
ditch that coffee machine and get a better quality one, the coffee was undrinkable
Excellent Friendly Staff Great Car Parking Close to Good Restaurants/Pub 200 Metres From Train Station 10 mins To Harry Potter Tour Excellent Free Breakfast Sandwiches and dinks for sale at a reasonable price. Free ice machine. Unlimited Tea and Coffee.
Our Son would like some biscuits in the room for our next visit !
Ultimately the staff were very helpful, if initial contact in one or two cases was a little offhand.
The ParkingEye situation in the hotel car park is not made sufficiently clear on arrival. I entered an incorrect car registration digit and only found out next morning that this was going to cost me £100. One of the staff finally sorted the matter out with ParkingEye but only after first telling me that I would have to deal with it myself and my having to make a couple of desperate phone calls to the car hire company re. the impending fine.
Lovely position of the hotel in a busy area. Well equipped rooms and very good breakfast. Good place to stay for a short visit.
As we were visiting friends in hemel Hempstead and also wanted to go to see out son in London this hotel was ideally situated. Right across the road is Apsley Station which took us straight in to Euston. Hotel is situated by a canal and a lovely pub called the Paper Mill. Rooms were clean and breakfast was fine.
Limited Hot breakfast but still had cereals/ toast/croissants etc.
We did not know that there was a canal so close so were pleasantly surprised and took a leisurely stroll along the bank.
We were very happy with our stay, the staff were friendly. Lovely scenery, in a great location! Money well spent :)
The usual room's cleanliness and staff's professionally, typical of a big chain hotel.
A low frequency noise affecting my room, which was one level down from reception.
The location is ideal and walking along the canal is interesting.
we have stayed several times because of the location.
Got a good deal even though we booked fairly late. Friendly and efficient check-in. Room was facing the back (canal) side as requested which means you don't hear anything from the nearby train line. Having read about double beds less than 5 ft. wide, we booked a twin room: beds can easily be pushed together and you have all the space you can ask for! Very clean room, good lights. Booking confirmation said 'continental breakfast', however we were pleased to find some hot items (sausages, eggs, beans) were included. Also, WIFI in the room is free if you can manage with approximately ISDN speed; certainly fast enough to check emails and look at a couple of websites. Hotel is close to a pub which serves food until late in the evening. There's also a very good Italian restaurant across the canal bridge (closed Sunday night after 6:30 unfortunately). Supermarket just a few minutes down the road. Would definitely stay at this hotel again if we come back to the area!
Instruction sheet with car park details slightly confusing: it looks like they are in the process of changing barrier and parking space arrangements, so the sheet talks about what changes will be coming soon - not relevant, we just needed to know what the current position is. Never mind: there was no barrier to worry about, plenty of spaces with no charge just at the hotel entrance.
We had a wedding to attend at Shendish Manor n the hotel was very close n convinient!
Rooms clean Bed soft No noise
No bacon on breakfast
The Holiday Inn is directly across the road from the train station so you can get into London in 30 minutes. The trains run regularly and return trains tie in to nights out in the Capital
The restaurant menu was a bit expensive
The cleanliness of the room. The availability of parking at the hotel. The politeness of the staff at the hotel
Very clean and comfortable Hotel Easy access to train station beautiful surroundings First class staff
Could have had more facilities
It was comfortable and service was good
Nice location next to a canal with towpath walks. A pub serving food and the railway station (to London Euston) are close by. Several more eateries are on the canal marina, a 5 minute walk away. Hotel has a bar serving draught beer.
Bathroom doors are hollow and are noisy when closed. Beds are only standard doubles and not queen size. Dining area can be busy at breakfast.
we liked it all very friendly and professional staff
guests steeling food from the restraint
