Great location, clean rooms with a big comfy bed.
Why do you have to pay for parking overnight when I have already paid for the room?
Booked two rooms...paid for both before arrival..this confused them.?????
Wet paint dripped from stairwell onto my head...i was told..we had a sign saying wet paint..
nice warm comfortable surroundings as you come in from the cold
food menu very limited and expensive, a burger and half a dozen chips nearly ten pounds ouch.
£35 for bed and breakfast, you can't beat that. Feriendly and helpful staff.
My request for an upper floor room and for a special dietary requirement did not appear to have got through from Booking.com Why don't they do bacon for breakfast?
Location fairly close to NEC
Other guests - noisy, bad language Price - way overpriced. Not as close to NEC as you might think
Location of the bedrooms; good service;polite and helpful staff; cleanliness;and all of the facilities.
Needed more selection in the vending machine: Foodstuff etc.
The rooms were very comfortable and clean with a big tv unlike other hotels. Plenty of space to sit and relax in a well fitted room. Loved the pub next door. Real 'oldie worldy' and beautifully comfortable with open log fire and everything. Food is lovely. Nice helpful happy staff to welcome you upon arrival. All in all I loved it. Thank you.
I didn't like not having bacon on the menu for breakfast as I am allergic to eggs and most sausages so was limited to beans and toast or cereals. Not very nice. I also think there should be a little more hanging space in the rooms as this is very limited.
top services, top cosy room, very nice people at the reception
The fact that the key card kept not working & had to be reset. Plus breakfast finished 9.30 would have been better till at least 10
The room was well furnished and of an adequate size. The bathroom was clean and the towels were nice. The TV was a good quality one.
The main drawback was breakfast which was chaotic. There were no glasses out for the fruit juice, the plates were inappropriate in size and when I asked a member of staff for a non-dinner plate, he opened a cupboard where there were some and promptly closed it and walked off. I had to re-open the cupboard myself and find one. There was one croissant left at 8.45am. on a Saturday morning. It was clear that other people were having a similar experience. There needs to be staff about who see that the operation works in a more friendly way. Generally I felt that at the desk, people were not that interested in the guests, but quite keen to take the not insubstantial amount of money off them. Similarly,in the restaurant next door, due to a fire on the M6 and having rung through to say we would be late for the booking, we were greeted with 'If you don't order in the next two minutes the kitchen will be closed'. Charming I thought!!
The staff were very nice. The room was warm and comfortable the location great and it was easy to find.
Only one gripe the attention to details that would have made this place excellent was missing. We reported that two areas of our room were not u to scratch.
Everybody was complaining at breakfast - no food, no plates, no cutlery. We had to butter our toast with a spoon. We made a complaint to the manager and submitted it in writing before we left and heard nothing from them.
Convenience for NEC
The room, very basic, stained ceilings, only one usable plug socket and not practically situated for hair straighteners etc. breakfast finished at 0930, should be at least 1000 or some facilities for food after 0930
Accommodation was excellent. Came in twice very wet and exhausted and was met with cheerful, helpful staff who helped me wind down. Niceties are rare these days but the staff members there have it in abundance. Even offered to Google best route to NEC by foot.
No access to NEC for foot travellers, had to cross main road to access, lucky no too busy the two times I had to access it. The is no courtesy bus, or even one where you could pay a small amount to take you directly to the Hotel. there was one that took you to the airport but did not take passengers to our hotel when I enquired. It cost me £5.00 to get to the NEC and £7.00 to come back on the first day, as I was going to the exhibition on my own, leaving husband in hotel, adding extra expense. Second day we transferred to a nearer hotel (also booked with you) and we had a courtesy bus to the station. As I said if this service was provided, I am sure no one would really complain about a small cost, especially as the day we arrived it was raining so hard that we were soaked and there were no taxis around.
close to NEC Handy to Little Owl Pub for meals
No shuttle bus to NEC Would like rashers and fried or poached eggs on the breakfast menu
Ideal position for visiting the NEC. Good parking although a bit expensive compared to other similar hotels I have visited. Staff were very helpful and pleasant.
No information about food available in restaurant. Poor heating room was very cold. Poor choice of hot items at breakfast. No air-con but we did not need it due to cold weather
great hotel for the nec
Breakfast is dire, both choice and quality! OK, it is included in the price, but for what you pay for the room, it is so far below what you would expect and receive in the smallest B&B or private hotel where breakfast is included! The "Great Room" is just that, a soulless cavern, more like a waiting room than a place to socialise! You charge enough, especially when there are trade shows on, so why not do the job properly and provide a proper HOTEL service, and give your paying customers a proper reason to return! furthermore there was a fire alarm in the middle of the night, and yet less than half the guests were checked off as being out of the hotel and the staff did not seem to be taking charge! Lucky I had a room on the bottom floor and a good sense of self preservation!
Quite, comfy beds, pub next door.
Bathroom a bit shabby, car park charge, breakfast below average.
Reception & housekeeping staff were very good!
Breakfast was very poor. No cutlery available. People were waiting quite sometime for clean cutlery. Luckily we waited until clean cutlery was bought out before we got our breakfast. When we did get the breakfast, it wasn't that great...
closeness of the hotel to the NEC and the cleanliness
When checking in, the receptionist tried to charge us again, even though we had already paid via the internet. We were told that we hadn't paid as the credit card had not been used yet. We quickly found our bank details and reassured the receptionist that we had indeed paid and we wouldn't be paying again - she soon found our booking. Breakfast is poor, with the cooked breakfast option there is only baked beans, scrambled egg and sausages - I hate baked beans!
Level 3 rooms too hot
Great comfort! Both bed and sofa bed were very comfortable and room was much better than expected for the price!
Only negative was a dirty sock that didn't belong to us was found behind the curtain
Value for money, excellent location for NEC. Breakfast pretty good for the price. We will stay there again.
