Holiday Inn Newport was very well coming, clean, tidy and the staff, very helpful. The Breakfast was great and the room itself, was very clean. A very welcoming Hotel. Only thing I did not like was the fact that the toilet leaked after flushing it (only clean water). It left a pool of water after each use.Had to keep mopping it up with towel.

For our first experience of the Holiday inn Express hotels we were very impressed as to the quality of the accomadation. cleanliness of all areas, comfort of the room and general lay out of the room.the staff on arrival were friendly and helpful, as i had not been in the area for over 30 years.the breakfast staff kept the area clean at all times.

The staff were very friendly. We did not realise there were two Holiday Inns in Newport. We went to the wrong one first but had the impression many people did the same thing. Maybe the website could make that clearer. The staff rang the second place straight away to check that we were registered at the second Holiday Inn. The location was a nice quite site but near the Motorway so convenient. The room was comfortable and very clean. There was no breakfast room service which was not good. Maybe that could be clearer on he website. The breakfast croissant had been heated for a very long time so had solid bottom halves which were not edible. The Holiday Inn system for charging for WIFI in your room is becoming rather out of date compared with other hotel services.

Its easy to find,in a business park just off the m4 at junction 28, offering a large car park and decent pub next door. Asda is about 1/2 ml away, across the junction, for petrol etc. Great for a one night stop or base for visiting area. Dont expect luxury, it good, no frills. We booked a disabled room, wetroom good, lots of handrails, towels dreadful. Heating caused us problems, took long time to warm up. If you aren't bothered for a few miles pay the bit extra and stay at the Hampton by Hilton on junction 23a - much better value for money. We booked a disabled room as I have mobility problems. At one point I staggered a bit in the room, went to sit on the bed and it moved away from me! I had to be careful not to lean on it as the simplest knock pushed it across the room. Think what it would be like transferring from a wheel chair! It needs to be locked down especially in a designated disabled room. The complimentary breakfast was a farce - just a big scrum. We stayed over a bank holiday, there were no seats, tables were not cleared. The space where food was laid out was so small only 3 or 4 could access it at any time. The coffee machine (instant) was slow, only one cup at a time, as was the toaster so people were waiting around blocking access to the hot food stand! There were no trays so it meant several trips back and forth when you did get a seat, adding to the scrum.

The location was perfect. We were able to drop off the motorway and find the hotel very quickly and after a long drive that was very important. The pub next door was excellent for dinner, as well.

Clean and comfortable rooms. Excellent staff. Great location for our needs. Excellent value. Very ordinary (basic) breakfast. Beds are double but not huge, and a bit on the hard side for me. I experienced bachache for the fisrt time in years over the 2 night stay.

We were going to the Millennium Stadium for a Wales rugby match. It is ideally positioned for that. Also, the Dragonfly pub/restaurant adjacent is excellent value for money; but be sure and book at weekends.
