Hotel is in a great location - near newport, and the village of bassaleg. I think that it is great that breakfast is included in the price - great when you have kids with you. Staff are always helpful and frendly The towels that are provided could do with been a bit bigger

Clean and comfortable rooms. Excellent staff. Great location for our needs. Excellent value. Very ordinary (basic) breakfast. Beds are double but not huge, and a bit on the hard side for me. I experienced bachache for the fisrt time in years over the 2 night stay.

Staff were helpful and friendly excellent location as we were meeting family Very surprised when bar service was unable to provide a glass of red wine when requested on the Sunday afternoon and again on the Sunday evening. Also when a glass of port was requested again told that this was not available at the hotel.

We were going to the Millennium Stadium for a Wales rugby match. It is ideally positioned for that. Also, the Dragonfly pub/restaurant adjacent is excellent value for money; but be sure and book at weekends.

Cant fault the hotel or staff what so ever very clean and tidy hotel plenty of onsite parking not to far from the shopping area one thing I would advise is there is a pub right next to the hotel I would avoid I had a meal in there one night and the food wernt very good and the portions were small but the price wernt although this has nothing to do with the hotel

Chef needs to learn about cooking. Fish overcooked batter too hard to eat and my wife's chicken too hard to eat. Very poor value for money. Very, very disappointing. The menu was very limited. For such a good company, your restuarant really let you down.

Convenient location just off the motorway, but not noisy. We booked 2 rooms for 4 people. I was very disappointed to find on arrival that not only were our rooms not next door or opposite to each other, they were not even on the same floor. One was on the first floor, whilst the other was on the third floor.

This is an efficient and well-run hotel with friendly staff. The rooms are modern and clean, the food is perfectly acceptable but, in addition, there is a vintage pub next door which provides meals at a cheaper rate than the Holiday Inn. In fact the slightly limited evening menu at the Inn was already out of some items on Friday evening For me, the best combination is to stay at the Inn for bed and breakfast but then to have an evening meal at The Dragonfly. And, yes, I like the free wi-fi in the lobby, though you have to close all other windows on your browser to access the free server. I needed help from the staff to achieve this.

Easily accessable from main road. Quiet. Large car park.Lots of villages around for good pub food. Clean, attractive good sized rooms. Well appointed bathrooms with seperate toilet. Excellent staff. Large comfortable seating area. Good location for day trips to castles, monastries, free museums, mountains, Roman remains, towns [Chepstow/Cardiff/ Newport]. Decent breakfast. Excellent value for money when using internet booking. This was our second visit in 2 months- we were going to a lunchtime family gathering & could easily have returned home to Wiltshire. However our previous experience of exploring this part of Wales [ Tintern/ Raglan Castle/Caerleon & St Faggans] encouraged us to stay overnight again to visit other sites. None except frest orange juice at breakfast rather than squash would be a plus.
