Hardly the hotel's fault, but the violent, aggressive behaviour of certain guests (?) during the night prevented sleep and was actually frightening. More effort should have been made to end it! The breakfast was poor and not value for money. At over £100 per night, you expect fresh fruit, not ghastly tinned salad; you expect decent coffee, not awful stuff from the sort of machine found in a bus station; you expect proper, not reconstituted scrambled egg with no taste.
Location not that good
very noisy, mainly from other guests at 4am poor breakfast facilities.
Price Fixed taxi fare £10 to centre so could not be "done", so remained very good value Friendly helpful staff.
Went past sewerage works into Oxford! ( stayed Sunday night at Mal Maison, converted prison for Sunday night - ? Slopping out!)
Easy access to park & ride, bus links to Oxford City Centre
When checking out, there was a large all-male group who had obviously caused problems on the Saturday night, as the police were in attendance. Not the staff fault of course.
Poor location and bad travel connections to Oxford centre.
good standard, basic and clean and comfortable. quiet. Efficient and helpful staff. Breakfast included in price
The hotel is miles from the centre of town and taxi fares were £25 in total to get there and back. I'd have been better off paying more and staying closer to the centre of town, good only for drivers but no parking in central Oxford so not for a visit
Poor choice at bar. Broken sofa-bed left made up in room. Mix up with booking, second time we've stayed, second mix up.
price big room quiet
difficult to access wifi - maybe an iPhone 6 problem...... a bit out of town but not too bad
take a holding fee of £30 but actually on checking out we find they take £125. staff lie when checking in room was dirty uht milk was out of date pillows uncomfortable, did not sleep much only 2 bags of sugar, if I wanted more than had to pay do not get holding fee back when checking out, they hold on to it for 3 days curtains do not fit window properly, light comes in room from street lights outside radiator did not work, room was freezing cold and staff slag off booking.com website
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice sized room. Clean and modern.
Room was clean and tidy. Fairly siund proof for this type of hotel. Good nights sleep. Has a taxi service to city centre for £10.00 which would be less hassle than queuing in traffic, finding and paying for parking. Breakfast self serve but more than adequate. Lots of parking.
Bit out in sticks. Thank goodness for sat nav. Not alot nearby. But would condider again. Bar in hotel expensive and snacks in machine even more expensive
worth every pound and every minute there nice buffet
clean rooms breakfast
as promised we did not got a cot for our 1 year old. but we managed it.
My room, good size with sofa. Decent size bathroom and shower, good range of lighting.
The cooked part of the breakfast can only be described as grim. The scrambled eggs were like dried eggs and the sausages were just gross. Also there wasn't enough room around the breakfast buffet. People were banging into each other
comfy bed ,no night time noise, close to park and ride .
bar prices quite dear.
Breakfast was not upto par in line of ihg group ... Family rooms too small for the price paid
Breakfast had no bacon, no mushrooms, no tomato, no Earl Gray Tea, No marmite. In fact it was very poor.It is included in the price but I would rather pay for something worth having. The bed was not as good as at Premier Inns. I WOULD NOT STAY AGAIN!
The location was as expected but the local roadworks made getting to Oxford Town Centre hard work.
Having read bad reports of uncomfortable beds I nearly cancelled our visit. I should have as the mattress was like sleeping on a deflating airbed! Each time one of us moved the other bounced about the bed too. I am still suffering with my back.
Staff Location Cleanliness
clean, comfortable room. close to cinema, bowling, pool and restaurants. Close to park and ride bus to take you into oxford.
Limited breakfast options.
The rooms were nice and clean with plenty of sockets for charging phones or using a PC and after reading other comments from others I found the hotel to be fine.
The breakfast although adequate could probably do with a managerial tweak as the sausages and yogurt were a bit ropy also it is a bit far out from the city but that said the hotel has an agreement with a local taxi firm which will take you into the city centre and return for a flat rate of ten pounds.
staff and the hotel was excellent
breakfast was the worst cooked breakfast ever
The hotel was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. I needed advice on the Park and Ride and the staff were very informative.
The breakfast at Holiday Inn is truly horrendous! The scrambled eggs taste artificial and the sausages are full of mushy cardboard! I do not understand why the chain do not offer bacon if they offer an English breakfast. I purchased a mug of chocolate from the machine for £2, which I thought overpriced. The pillows are absolutely horrible! It is almost impossible to distinguish between soft and firm. All in all, I felt that the hotel was overpriced for the amenities. To be honest, I meant to book the Premier Inn but made a mistake. I will not use Holiday Inn again.
A nice big room. Very quiet.
Breakfast wasn't very good - eg no prunes, no bacon, horrible scrambled egg, undrinkable coffee and barely drinkable orange juice. Very difficult to get to by bus. NO TEA provided in room! I hope that all this gets reported back.
