This was a busy, well run hotel which was very conveniently situated for us. It was fairly new, and very clean and well presented with well trained, efficient and friendly staff.

I thought you got a very good balance of value for money and comfort. the bed was very comfy and I slept well. I don't always. the room was very clean and a good size. I liked the closing back door on the toilet and the magnets on the shower curtain to hold it in place at the bottom. I liked the breakfast because although there was a limited range the food was decent quality. the Croissents were exceptional. I prefer quality food to more coice and poor quality. the sausages were not cheap greasy nasty ones and the scrambled egg was perfectly cooked and not rubbery. the reception staff were very helpful when asked for an iron and advice about directions and busses.Thank you for a great stay. no complaints at all. but I would suggest a variation in the limited choice of breakfast, ie. bacon instead of sausage again with the scrambled egg on the second day.Well done and we will definately come again.

It was basicly inexpensive, relativiely clean and close enough to oxford. But not as close as stated. The hotel blo must use their 6cks out internet access devices so you must use their 6 pounds an hour internet access. By the end of the evening we spent more on internet than the room itself.

It was basically where we wanted to stay. The description missleading. I rented an internet device that the hotel staff said I could not use in the hotel and then intentionally blocked it. I had to pay 6 pds per hour to use their access. This has nwver happened in a hi express before.

The staff were helpful. This is most definitely not a £100+ per night hotel. Its clean and basic and benefits from Oxford's poor availability of hotels. In this day and age, and as a business traveller, I resent having to pay for TV channels over and above the basics, when so many are available freeview. That and internet charges are an unwelcome and unnecessary additional nightly cost. I would recommend this hotel to colleagues but purely due to the lack of suitable alternatives in Oxford.

Its cleanliness. The breakfast was really small. From 10am there were no pastries left and the staff would not accommodate my request of bringing more breakfast. I had to be content with a yoghurt and toasts, which is completely unacceptable.

Good efficient reception, both in and out Very poor breakfast albeit it would have served fine as a continental breakfast, but if you are going to put on an English breakfast, do something better than cold bake beans, quorn type sausages and scrambled egg, e.g. bacon would have been good

THe hotel room was fine and the food was value for money - lovely breakfast. Polite staff. The location was in the middle of knowhere and was difficult to get to the city centre as when we asked a receptionist he just said the bus stop was in that direction. Also the taxi fare was 10 pound which meant every time we left the hotel we had to pay 20 return which made the stay a little expensive. The info about the bus stop was a little misleading in the info on the net. It also said that there were restaurants in the vicinity - yes there were 3 and very busy and booked up most of the time. I would recommend to people who have transport - but if you haven't don't stay.

Well presented room which offered clean and adequate facilities. We liked the informality of the buffet breakfast and we were also impressed by the inclusion of a cooked element which has not been available on our numerous previous visits.

It was a very good experience! Staff were eally nice and hotel was Clean. Free parking and Breakfast was cool for £12 for 2 of us for 2 days..! 10 minutes driving to City Centre (too many roundabouts), keep ur gps on while driving.. You can increase the breakfast price slightly up and arrange few more items in it. As money is not a deal for the people who visits you- but wide range of Quality items is an issue.

The room was spacious and very quiet. The whole building was clean and modern. The shower worked well. The car park was well-lit and only a few steps away from the entrance. The staff was very friendly. Unfortunately, the mattress was a bit stiffer than I like it, and the breakfast time ended already at 9.30am.

“I liked the unpretentiousness and friendliness and liveliness of it and how very very handy to everything it is - to the central area of Oxford - being in George St. Itself where there are many super restaurants - we ate at a super authentic french restaurant a few meters up the street. Would certainly stay there again. We came from Hereford and were on our way to London and wanted to spend the night in Oxford. Catching the early morning Oxford Express (or the double decker Oxford Tube if you prefer) just meant falling out of bed into the bus station - buses every few minutes - air conditioned super friendly and humorous drivers. Just remember they (Oxford Express and Oxford Tube) pick up in London for the journey home at different places to each other and to drop off point (Oxford Express anyway) and timings vary throughout the day so get a timetable and ask when boarding in Oxford. The train station is a good place to get a very early morning coffee and croissant if you have to leave before breakfast - we left at 6 A.M. - just a couple of minutes walk away and then back to the bus station. The place seems to be under the management of a friendly artist with a pleasant manner and sense of humour. We have plenty of quiet in rural Hereford so were pleased to find a bit of bustle about the place and very much appreciated the friendly receiption. ” Susan, Hereford |
