The low-priced Collin House is in chic Belgravia, just 5 minutes' walk from Victoria coach and train stations. It is basic, yet convenient for Central London and the amenities of Belgravia.

First floor shared bathroom Dirty walls in the room
Rooms are too small. We've been given a room in the basement, for which we couldn't even open the window. No shower gel or anything like that in the bathroom either.
size of rooms, TINY
Like a prison cell
Location was fantastic, very close to Victoria Station.
Room was very small. The "ensuite" was just a tiny closet. We could barely fit inside to use the toilet. The room was very basic, and it looked much nicer online. The mattress was showing at the bottom of the bed with a massive stain. The room was up 3 or 4 flights of stairs with no lift. Wifi was an extra charge
Easy access to Victoria Coach.
excellent location, near transport links, clean room
rooms not sound proof. maybe they are just too loud but can hear people next room making sounds you dont want to hear especially when you are with children.
I came across this lovely hotel on Booking.com for £55 for three people for one night, which for so close to the city centre and 60 second walk from victoria coach seemed an absolute bargain. We booked online and had to check in from between midnight and 2:30pm. Arriving there seemed abit of a maze because it was just apartment blocks and the only way to distinguish it was the hotel sign above the door which you only see when your infront of the door, very small and cramped reception and narrow staircase with not really conventional style hotel rooms. Two rooms on each floor. We got given a 5 person room because the previous occupants of our room hadn't left, which was fine for us as we had a double bed, single bed and bunk bed for 3 of us. I read other views of no windows but there was two and it was quite cool for the August heat. The room was very clean, cool and well equipped. There was a sink, cutlery, mini fridge, microwave, fan, kettle and heater. The ensuite was small and efficient and quite modern compared to the shabby reception and lobby. There was a toilet on each floor as well. The area was quiet, clean and friendly. A short walk from South Kensington underground, and 15 minute walk from Hyde park. It was easy to travel to touristic landmarks from this location such as the musuems near South Kensington Victoria and Albert, national history, national geology etc or go to Westminster via bus or underground and see Big Ben, Downing Street, Buckingham palace, London eye, Westminster palace etc but being in August it was extremely busy especially oxford street the huge stretch of shopping stores. Returning to the hotel was a relief after the heat and busyness of the city centre, we had to check out at 10:30am next morning, by the way there was no time you had to be in by, they just gave you a key and left you to it, it was quite relaxed.
No distinct signs for hotel. No responsibly for baggage handling. Unhelpful receptionists. Noise at night.
Very nice facade and building as seen from the outside. We were allowed into our room when we arrived at 12.00.
Tiny twin-bedded room, miniscule "bathroom" with no room to dry oneself after a shower. No hand towels. Check-out 10.30. Had to pay for leaving luggage and for wi-fi.
Very good location in a safe area of London - didn't feel worried about returning to the hotel late after a night out. Staff helpful and friendly.
No lift No hairdryer No vending machines/bar area
Excellent location near Victoria. This hotel is good, we could made coffee or tea.
Very small bathroom ...
Close to Victoria station
Tiny "en suite"- could hardly stand in it without knocking the door open. Room was sweltering hot One small towel each- no hand towel in bathroom Landings between floors were filthy
The hotel is very well located, clean and the personel is quite friendly.
The hotel is quite expensive, there is no breakfast and the wifi is not free.
The room was very clean
The room was small and it was hot so had to open the window, so could hear noise from outside
Location was ideal for where we needed to be very early next morning.
Felt like sleeping on the actual springs...not that we slept much. Mousetrap in our room. Dust and cobwebs. Stained bed. Crumbs in bedding. Bedside lamps and bulbs broken or not working. Corner porta wet room was very smelly and dirty. Would have looked for somewhere else if we hadn't arrived late and needed to try to get sleep before early start in the morning.
no free socket converters
Cheap, close to Victoria, comfortable, clean,
One bathroom I was on the third floor and bathroom was on the first so very far to go. WiFi wasn't free, i would have been happy for the room price was £5 more to have free WiFi.
The shared bathroom was awful. As far as I could make out, 1 single showed and toilet served 12 rooms. I had to walk down several fleights of stairs to get to the bathroom and on most occasions found it already occupied. dreadful
Actually, nothing about the hotel. But, the location was excellent.
I am a university academic and researcher, currently doing research in the UK. I, with my younger brother travelled from Scotland to London by bus with an overnight journey. When we reached the hotel at 7:00 am, the attitude of the staff who was on duty in the early morning is too harsh and very rude. He was not welcoming at all, rather charged me and literally abusive to us for waking him up in the early morning. We finished a 11 hours bus journey, and just wanted to keep our 2 small handbags in the hotel reception, as our check-in was at 2:00 pm. But, the staff was so rude, as we woke him up, and told me he doesn't want to be disturbed by anyone before 7 am! However, the hotel information and website says, "24 hour reception services". I politely told the guy, that we travelled long distance and we just wanted to keep our bags in the reception, and we will check-in at 2:00 pm. He then rudely told me why do we have to come to hotel at 7:00 am, as we will not pay anything for 2:00 pm! Then I told him if he can be a bit polite and welcoming with us. He then replied, "Are you trying to be cheeky with me?" We felt like he was about to hit us physically, because he was already verbally abusive to us. I wonder how does this person runs a hotel in the UK! Anyway, they also charge £2 per bag to keep in the reception (without taking any responsibility of lost or stolen). I paid and thought, he didn't do any favour on me by letting us keeping our bags, since it is a paid service. Then, why there was this rude behaviour? Why is he working in the early morning if he doesn't want to be disturbed during his sleep time? In fact, why is he doing this business or job then? Why he had to be so mannerless and impolite with foreigners who are paid guests in his hotel? Tiniest bathroom ever! Definitely, the worst experience of my life.
close to all attractions in central London clean and friendly staff
Accommodation was clean but room and bathroom facilities space was small and very limited. Suits a short stay. I booked last minute and did not realise no lounge or bar facilities. I was happy to pay the special offer price but would have been disappointed if I had paid full price. However room was clean and pleasant and ideally situated for underground to travel easily around London.
Room was small for a twin room beds were very close together.
The only thing we liked was the location. Very close to Victoria tube, coach and rail station.
Just about everything else. Arrived at 3:00 (check in time is 2:00) and told our room was not ready. With little interest he said he would call the cleaner. At least we could stow our luggage. Surly staff, told there would be a refrigerator and grocery store around the corner so took the time to pick up a few things. Arrived back at 4:00, still not clean. We sat on the stairs (no place else) while the room was finished. Got in at 4:30. Turns out no fridge. Spoke to desk clerk. He just shrugged and said can't do anything about it! At least I wasted £10 for food we had to throw out. Had to request hair dry from front desk. Had to request iron and ironing board from front desk then desk clerk (different one) was annoyed about having to get the board from storage and bring it to my room. He informed me he wasn't a porter. Charged ridiculous rate for Wifi. £15 for four days and could only be used on one device! If you have a choice don't stay here!
Friendly and helpfull staff. We only stayed for one night so it served our purpose.
The shower and toilet cubicle was so small that it was difficult to turn around.
en-suite toilet not enough room
