The swimming pool.
Very helpful management, and easy 1/2 mile walk to Canterbury high street..
booked large room for supplement cost which was good but on main road [thought it faced garden at rear] Would ask for rear garden facing room if available...
spacious room, staff very dog-friendly, large garden to walk your dog, nice breakfast room and tasty food
Close to town-well looked after by management and staff
Beds in singles could be improved
Staff as always very helpful , apart from one, see my negative comment.
The way I was informed on my arrival at eleven thirty " oh, you are far too early to check in " Then told check in was anytime after one , on my booking form it said mid-day . I was not in the mood for a comment like that after a three hour drive.
Staff very friendly Beautiful gardens
No lift to upstairs Bar was bit pricey
Wonderful rooms, beautifully furnished. The beds are just great. Very clean and nice bathrooms. The garden is spacious and relaxing after a day sightseeing or driving. The staff is friendly and helpful. Not cheap but worth every penny.
No draught beers at the bar. And sadly no cider.
Staff all most helpful. Breakfast suburb, as was evening meal. Good selection of food and drinks. Parking excellent. Very clean and comfortable accommodation.
On second floor, with no lift, though Brian immediately offered to assist with the carrying of luggage, without being asked.
Nice old style and spacy rooms General atmosphere Good breakfast Nice garden
Spacious bedroom, clean, great proximity to town
Hard to sleep with far too much night light from the front car park & very creaky bed
The garden terrace furniture.
Lack of tv signal. The vegitation growing on the roof.
Excellent Breakfast Access to room early in afternoon.
Beds a little on the soft side.
Beautiful gardens and excellent breakfast. Waitress exceptionally pleasant. Comfy beds.
Basic rooms, kettle with nowhere sensible to plug in! No late evening/night service. No offer or porter help. Pool building overly humid. Foam pillows.
Spacious clean room and pool
Great hotel, spacious rooms, four poster bed. Lovely breakfast, quality sausages- best I've had in a long time. Small indoor pool, lovely landscaped gardens and terrace. Nice foyer, nice old school hotel. Not like the newer modern places with chipboard furniture everywhere. Will definitely return.
Staff was super friendly. We needed some driving advice and they all were very eager to help. Simon was wonderful! Super clean. Great breakfast!! loved it all. Great location as it is a nice walk from downtown.
we needed the family room because of the children and it faced the road. A busy road all day and night so it was a bit loud. Next time we will book a room facing the back and the beautiful garden
Location Parking availability Cleanliness Polite staff Gardens
A beautiful old build which was well maintained. We had a room at the back with a view of the very pretty gardens. Breakfast room was also a lovely setting. We didn't get a chance to use the jacuzzi and pool which was a pity but think it was definitely a plus.
The only negative in our view was that we felt that the carpet in our room needed a really good clean as there were a few stains which made it look grotty.
The layout, nice garden and pool and old historic feel to the place.
To ask for a baileys and malibu and coke at the bar to be charged over £13 was very expensive.
The staff and hotel were extremely accommodating to our needs. Lovely garden where you did not realise you were on a busy road.
I have stayed here once before and was made really welcome, also lovely staff and great service love going back
A lovely warm welcome and then shown to our rooms which were very comfortable and spacious, enjoying beautiful views over the rear gardens. Nothing seemed too much trouble and the hotel had a lovely comfortable vibe which is something you don't get when staying in larger hotels.
Bar staff and food
In need of modernisation. Quite old fashioned in appearance
Staff. Beautiful period house. Quality breakfast
Staff very pleasant and efficient Very good breakfast - very fast and helpful, gluten free toast available Decent sized rooms Nice wooded garden at thee back Refurbished downstairs bar
Shower a joke in one of our 2 rooms (15). Poor pressure and fittings. Slightly tired/chintzy decor - woodchip wallpaper and patterned carpets. Summer and no aircon with windows open, plus a front facing room - means noise from rush hour traffic on major road out front is quite significant
