I was very impressed with the building and it's history. The staff were very friendly and knowledgable. I was given all the information I needed at check in. The room was excellent and I enjoyed the spa bath. The breakfast was very good. It is a shame I was only passing through I would have enjoyed staying longer especially to use the pool.

Loved the ambience - small and intimate with a relaxed "family" atmosphere yet all the features and facilities of a larger hotel. Liked the the comfortable and classic style- our first room ( 9) was very good - the size was a plus and so warm! Staff were all helpful, efficient and very pleasant. free parking within walking distance of town centre a real bonus and worth mentioning in any advertising for city breaks. Free Wifi also a real plus and worth mentioning in your publicity NB many hotels charge for Wifi ( £15 for 24hrs) and breakfast extra at £10 a head- makes a real difference on the bill and not readily apparent in your on -line info that these are both free- Our second room - room 15 ( we changed room when we extended our stay by one day) was unfortunately sufficiently below the standard of our first room that had we been staying more than the one night I think I might not have recommended the hotel to others- or at least tell them to avoid room 15! It could get cold in the toilet corner of the bathroom- which was a little due for redecoration and the bathroom lock was broken - and a much smaller room than 9, losing much of the pleasure as a result

Atmosphere, comfort, relaxation, cleanliness of hotel. Professionalism of staff. Location to Canterbury centre (10 min walk). Pool and jacuzzi is a nice touch for pure relaxation (although on this occassion we did not use the facility). No charge for our dog!! - this is much appreciated as we feel more and more that we are being ripped off when (excessive) charges are applied for our dog.

Amazing staff, amazing bed linen! Lovely authentic features in the hotel. Amazing location and nice to have a swimming pool there. Walls are quite thin and floor boards are creaky so you can hear everyone in the hotel move! The staff are run ragged and so room service took about 10 mins just to pick up the phone!

Room and en suite very clean. Bed very comfortable. Good English or Cont breakfast. Service very very good. Thoroughly recommended even if a bit pricey. Do not park under the trees! - birds nest there!

The room was spacious and the en suite well appointed.I Enjoyed the spa bath. The 4 poster was unexpected and comfortable. The receptionist ( I think Charlotte was helpful with directions to places in the city. Breakfast was good with ample helpings. It was good to find bacon grilled but not dried out. If I had more time available I would have used the pool, it looked tempting. My only criticism would be that the bathroom, overlooking the road had a net curtain and frosted glass but in the dark with the lights on I would have preferred a blind.

The room was comfortable and the full English breakfast was excellent. Unfortunately, as a late arrival I had dinner on route, but looking at the menu I feel I would have enjoyed eating a meal at the Ebury.

Despite arriving early we were able to check in and were shown to our room which was spacious and immaculately clean. Décor in the room could be described as "traditional" but this suits the character of the hotel. Plenty of car parking and an easy 10-15 minute walk into the city centre. We ate in the hotel restaurant and the food was exceptionally good as was breakfast the next morning. We would certainly recommend dining here. Facing over the large gardens at the back of the hotel our room was quiet and we would advise asking for a rear facing room if possible. Staff were all excellent. Service was friendly but not intrusive. The bed was quite firm which would not suit everyone and the pillows were lumpy and needed replacing. The hotel is on a busy road and rooms facing the front of the hotel could be noisy. There is no lift and although this was not a problem for us, it could be for some. After some searching we found our tea and coffee making tray including kettle in the wardrobe. Bizarre! However these are minor points and did not detract from our stay
