Close to motorway but quaint little village. Made to feel very welcome. Room was excellent with a really comfortable bed.Lovely bar serving very reasonably priced but tasty meals with friendly staff. One of the best breakfasts we have ever had, beautifully cooked and presented. We hope very much to go back.
Only be able to stay one night
So friendly and its nice for someone to know my name when I walk in every evening. I will stay there every time I'm in Ecclefechan
No mushrooms at breakfast
Very friendly owners, among the best ever experienced. Excellent comfortable room (10) with top quality furnishings and large en suite. Good proximity to motorway without the noise. Hotel full of character. Good food with excellent portions. This will be a REAL gem when refurbishment completed.
A warm welcome and a superb en suite room newly refurbished
the staff were brilliant, the room & onsuite out of this world, heated mirrors 5 star! food great
Good location for fishing the lower Annan. Good value for money, owners are excellent!
Very friendly staff
Every thing about stay was good and we were made welcome by staff and locals. A lot of refurbishment still required but what is done is very nice. Will use this hotel again if in the area
As a woman traveling alone, I felt safe (important) and was made very welcome. I was only stopping over the night on my way south, so didn't have chance to see much of the area. The room was clean and comfortable with plenty of space. There were vegetarian options for both dinner and a cooked breakfast. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
The staff was extremely friendly, and always willing to help. Excellent value for money, would recommend a stay here.
In a refurbished room which had adequate space and facilities
Was not informed that the hotel was undergoug extensive refurbishment; however this did not affect us as we were in refurbished rooms
Staff including owner Room meals and beer pricing Massive effort being made to improve and renovate Very convenient to the M74
Warm and friendly was always very helpfull.
Cooking smell requires a better extractor in the kitchen area
Really enjoyed our stay, will definitely return for another few days.
Very accommodating and friendly staff. Great central location in Ecclefechan. Friendly bar.
Friendly welcome, great service, fabulous breakfast. A quiet, peaceful oasis just off the motorway. You can carry on your journey rested, well fed and having received great value for money. I can't recommend it enough.
The friendly host, great atmosphere in a historic building. Good breakfast with delicious haggis (freshly caught and on the table within 48 hours of capture in a humane trap).
Nothing to dislike at all
Friendly welcome. Very happy and very helpful. Rooms to high standard.
Hotel was under redevelopment but did not effect quality of stay.
Very friendly staff and excellent breakfast. Felt part of the family and really enjoyed our stay.
Very friendly staff and room was big comfortable and newly refurbished with beautiful decore.
The refurbished rooms are a delight, clean and comfortable
The smell of the deep fat fryer was not too pleasant
decent food, beer and service very accommodating, and reasonably priced location is great for a stop over
This is a quirky hotel which as others have said is undergoing a major renovation. Some of the public areas are still to be refurbished but the rooms are lovely and so comfortable. Mary and Joe, the hosts, and the staff were all so welcoming and genuine; nothing was too much trouble. Food is good, and the breakfast sets you up for the day. It's well worth a stay and we would recommend it very highly.
Very close to the A74, very easy to find, cosy building, very friendly staff, great room
Wi-Fi didn't work most of the time, breakfast not very good
Perfect location to split our journey home from North West Scotland. The owners Joe and Mary were very friendly and accomodating, Joe gave an impromptu music performance in the bar. The room we had was very comfortable and had recently been refurbished to a high standard.
