The part-owner/member of staff was very nice and relaxed. You can leave your bags there while you go into town. You can check-in until midnight The furnishings were made up of pieces of junk shop furniture, some of which could have been nice in another setting but here just looked cheap and a bit grubby. Wasn't sure the bed linen had been changed. The shared toilet, just outside my room, was the size of a cupboard as was the shower opposite (you stepped straight into it, no place for undressing). No handbasin in the toilet, so had to wash hands in room, but no towels or soap there. Could hear every word said in the hall outside and people moving about upstairs. There was a shelf with random things on it, artist's materials and body lotion obviously belonging to somebody. I would happily have exchanged the flat screen tv for a plainer, but less dingy room, and some soap.
