The Edgbaston Palace Hotel

It was ok as a base for our weekend in Birmingham. I wouldn't stay again particularly as I think it was quite over priced and a bit too far out of the centre. It wasn't unpleasant but I think it could do with a few adjustments here and there

We didn't like the two single beds shoved together to make a double. As both the beds dipped somewhat in the middle it made it quite uncomfortable. The hotel was situated a little further from the centre of Birmingham than we expected. The curtains were rather ill fitting in our room causing light to show through in the morning.

The reception staff were very helpful. check in was very straight forward. Rooom was very clean . excellent bed linen and bathroom towels. infiormation given re local buses etc. Restaurant food quite good service altogether very good.

Used bar for one round of drinks then ate out so unfair to comment

I complained about the room the following morning (cavalier 4) when the people from room 5 returned at about 2.00am the noise was unbearable not down to the guests the wall between the two rooms might as well not be there we heard every thing from the clicking of the pull switch, very loud, to the toilet roll holder, louder, and sadly the experence of listining to them use the toilet including bowel movements this room really needs to be listened too, the headboard is against the toilet room and I would say that any conversion work carried out to allow this needs to be looked into. I really wish we had not paid up front as we did not have a relaxful night and ther was no real passion to the sorry I got

Food Is Excellent

The staff could be a little friendlier, there's a chill in the air which makes the place hard to enjoy.

Good quality breakfast food (I've had very bad in other places) and helpful staff

No hot water,but was soon rectified.

Good, had one of the backrooms so it was pleasantly quiet, good connection to the city, good service and I was surprised to find a bathtub in my bathroom, very nice !!

I booked the Edgbaston and was put into the Caviler which was not the hotel booked I would have had to go out side and walk a short distance to eat at the hotel I had originally booked there woulkd be no one in the hotel I was staying in over night I did not think that this was acceptable in the end I was moved to the hotel I booked.

The room was clean and tidy and above all quite, so I managed to get a good nights sleep before an important meeting.

The hotel was tidy and the room comfortable, breakfast was very good. I would stay here again.

The lack of any kind of room service was disappointing.

I wasn't happy that we had to walk over to the next building for our room. I didn't like that it hadn't been designed properly as a hotel and was just a victorian house with strange steps everywhere. I didn't like the bed - it was weird and not comfortable and the bath wasn't comfortable to bathe in with this stupid jacuzzi system that looked very cheap.. The carpet had stains on it, the table hadn't been wiped and was sticky. The worst part of all was that there were collections of black bugs above our heads in the recesses. It was awful. They were all moving around and when we woke up they were on the bed - disgusting. If it hadn't been for the fact that we were in a rush to go to a concert, I would have gone elsewhere - just awful
