The location was easily accessible The room was neat and warm. By the way thanks for the provision for tea/coffee things right inside the rooms, it helped a lot. The security arrangements is quite remarkable too.
The outward aesthetics of the hotel was quite discouraging at first sight. It was a challenge getting to my room, 'cos I had a big luggage to move around. However I realized the room arrangements added to security advantages.
Ideal place for getting to and from city centre, nice comfortable rooms, on a main road but couldn't here traffic noise'
It is far away from the university
Manager on phone was rude and unhelpful and said customer loyalty was not important to him. On being given incorrect information by his staff he couldn't be bothered to check the rota from 10 days previous for retraining. When asked I'd I could speak to his boss he said no, and it was none of my business he was pyrt of a 3 hotel consortium
Bar and staff
The gentleman on Reception was very nice and carried my suitcase to my room. The restaurant was very handy as it meant I didn't have to go out on my own to eat at night on the day of my arrival.
Can't think of anything I disliked.
Staff very friendly and helpful
Room cold on arrival- took a while to warm up after turning on the radiator.
Free wifi - easy access to wifi
carpets dirty room smelt of cigerette smoke corners of rooms dirty hotel tired and run down staff tend to ignore you receptionist impolite and confrontational
We weren't sure what to expect given the price but the hotel was excellent value for money, all the facilities we needed, clean, good food, friendly staff, great location. Definitely stay here again.
Location, good reception attention
Getting to the rooms: journey and half. Up & down around and round, to get to the room. extremely poor quality of the wine that we had and very expensive
Do not stay here !!! Not clean, noisy rooms, reception are useless, the girl spent half the time in the toilet whilst we waited to check in. The bar staff were excellent but the manager himself appealing
Horrible place !!! It's dirty, the beds are cramped against a wall, the doors bang close so they're too loud, the staff are useless and the manager himself isn't pleasant. As soon as you walk in you feel like you're walking into down thing from shameless. You wouldn't be able to pay me to stay there again.
Quiet room at the back of the hotel. Free parking. Good breakfast at a reasonable rate.
Parking area closed off at 10pm, so coming back after a show could mean nowhere to park (only a small area in front of hotel)
Service at front desk poor.
When we arrived, the room window was fully open. There was a smell of disinfectant and Sick. We had to leave the window fully open whilst we went out for The night. On return the smell had eased off a bit but not fully
location was good with several buses running past the hotel to the city centre. Plenty of parking. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our double room in the annex was a good size and well equipped. Luckily it didn't rain so going across the courtyard for breakfast was not a problem. Overall a good friendly hotel
No lift, which was not a problem for us but our friend did find it difficult (though to be fair we knew this from the web site) Our friends room was very small, more suited to a single rather than double room.
Rooms well equipped and clean Dining room beautiful wooden panelling. Breakfast great and staff helpful
some noisy people in nearby room but cant be helped
Group booking:: All the rooms had a bad smell. Carpets are really old. Beds (twin beds) were really small. Turn over and you are on the floor. Avoid room 500 as there is a boiler in that room - very noisy. All round facilities are absolutely very poor. Far from being a Palace.
The room and bed were fine, I didn't have breakfast, because I came in late from the Birmingham Tattoo. The staff were polite and friendly.
couldn't use the shower and the plug for the sink, I couldn't release it to let the water out. Couldn't use the Wi-Fi at all and no information was given to me to let me use the Wi-Fi.
Cleanliness of room / bathroom was excellent.
We were greeted by friendly, helpful staff shown clean, comfortable rooms, modern bathroom and spotless bed linen. When we returned from a long day out we couldn't be bothered to go back out again for food so ate at the hotel and we were so glad we did because the food was absolutely fantastic! There was ten of us and all the food came out hot and together and not one person was disappointed with their meal in fact everyone said theirs was delicious. In the in the morning the choice of breakfast was really superb and all cooked beautifully the staff serving were chatty and polite. I would have no reservations in recommending the hotel and would stay there myself in the future.
Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. Recommended.
no negative comments.
The location was excellent. The accommodation was ok. It was quite a small room and felt a little claustrophobic but it was adequate. The breakfast was fine but nothing to write home about I'm afraid. Parking was excellent for the location. Good value for money !!
I couldn't complain about anything really.
Good location for travel into Birmingham.
The bed was quite uncomfortable. Breakfast was poor and no top ups for coffee/tea or toast
Price anf food was ok tho took nearly 30 mins to serve a chicken burger
Reception staff not very friendly as a client i expect some manners and eye contact maybe even a smile the staff on reception more interested in what after shave to order on line no please thank you or enjoy your stay it felt like i was an inconvenience checking in
Good location. Staff friendly. Clean room
Room very small.
