Room is small
On a convenient bus route not far from the city centre, only about 12 -20 mins, depending on peak/off peak times. Very efficient, helpful staff at all times of the day or night. Packed breakfast if checking out early. Clean and comfortable, but not luxurious rooms, to be expected in a student accommodation, but would recommend it to anyone and especially families and groups of tours. For the size of the campus it is amazingly efficiently run.
Nothing, all good.
1. Amazing breakfast: the best breakfast I have ever had! Seriously :D....sorry mom.. :D 2. Nice comfy room. 3. Very close to the downtown. 4. Nice and peaceful place. 5. You can take a short hike up to Arthur's seat offering beautiful view 360°.
Very good value for money with an excellent buffet breakfast. Only a 10 minute walk to the Pleasance Theatre or 20 minutes to the city centre. Right next to King Arthur's seat. Minimal room but keep spotlessly clean.
Bed could have been more comfortable, mattress seemed to be very thin.
Good value for money. Useful location.
Could not open room window.
Poor quality food for breakfast
Easy to reach either on foot or by public transport (I mainly walked) Reception staff exceedingly helpful Excellent quality food at breakfast Room/ensuite facilities more than adequate for short stay Great mix of people on site Tea/coffee/kettle provided
Room was near main hall which can be used for evening functions so some noise one night Large canteen/self service might not suit everyone, fine for me Found shower unit a bit difficult to manage
Very convenient. Liked the squash courts. Reasonable food. Actually found plenty of car parking.
Bed - rigid and small. Showers cramped and actually worse than when I was a student there!
Friendly and welcoming attitude, especially man on security barrier at entrance; simplicity and clarity of instructions, locations, how things worked, uncomplicated wi-fi access. Clean, good variety fo food at breakfast.
bed slightly uncomfortable, duvet not quite adequate - not long enough (altho extra blankets were available)
Very friendly staff. Great gardens. Quiet atmosphere. Clean rooms etc. Brilliant breakfasts
The pillows were no better than 'fair'. The shower in Turner House was staying was a little cramped.
Undoubtedly the best part of the package was the breakfast, an eat as much as you like buffer with a great variety of choice. Location is out of town but with easy access to a trail leading up to Arthur's Seat and Holyrood palace is only a 15/20 minute walk There are also some decent vegetarian restaurants quite close by. Staff were also very helpful, I was able to store my bag there, as I had arrived early, allowing me a few more hours to see the city
A little out of the centre, so you need a bus to get there but not too far. The room I had was basic student accommodation, with a shared bathroom but again this was flagged in advance so I knew what to expect.
no personal bathroom
Nice staff and atmosphere in area, location
Campus and breakfast
Bed was not very comfy.. But ok
A lovely setting beneath Arthur's Seat and in pretty gardens. Large room and a good breakfast. Nearby frequent buses for the quick journey into the centre.
Too cold on 2 nights - a pity the temperature could not be adjusted. One of the lights did not work - a thorough check before each new customer would be a good idea.
Simplicity, spartan, one price for all the food.
Limited parking availability near room.
Available services and meals
Price, lack of parking, no shuttle bus to town centre
Setting and friendliness of staff
The bed was uncomfortable
The accommodation was easy to get to, good transport link and within walking distance of the royal mile.
Lift was out of order for friend not able t use stairs, but quickly sorted.
This was a great location. Easy bus access to the Royal Mile and other attractions, you could even walk. Also, facilities were clean and had access to laundry. Excellent buffet breakfast and helpful staff. We went during the Tattoo and the campus was well organized and a great place to stay. Rooms were clean, lots of space and places to put luggage. Can't think of anything we didn't like!
Very good facilities great breakfast choices.
Breakfast was fantastic! Close to bus stops and very helpful staff. Good stay for backpackers or a group of friends.
Beds weren't the most comfortable, but then again it is a dorm room. Thin walls in rooms - could hear snoring of guests in the next room. Make sure to request a room away from any elevators, can be quite loud.
Helpfulness of Gemma on reception. Great choice for breakfast. Friendliness of staff in bar when we came in for a late meal. Pleasant surroundings. Grounds and buildings well maintained.
Cleanliness and location
Bed too small and hard.
