BEST WESTERN Edinburgh Capital Hotel  

Hotel was easy to access from the airport and parking was always available.

Double bed was too short and narrow for two people.

Good room space with clean bathroom.

The wooden floor is not well fix, yet noisy while transiting.

Close to main bus stop with very regular buses into town and the surrounding area.

Cooked breakfast was a little disappointing and tasted dry due to being prepared earlier and left on warmers.

Bedroom was far too hot and no air conditioning! Opened windows but then got traffic noise.

Thats our second stay at Best Western Edinburgh Capital Hotel in two months and we have found the place to be very comfortable, the facilities are very good, the staff extremely friendly and helpful, the food very nice and all at a very competitive price. We will be back in the next few months.

Very helpful staff. I had booked a room with special requirement of it being quite and with double bed, not two beds joined togather, but was given the room with twin beds joined togather and room facing the car park, however, as soon as I talked to the reception about the problem, they immediately gave me a room on the 2nd floor with proper doublebed and a fantastic view of the city. The Gym/steam and sauna facilities were also very good and I always look forward to these sessions in the evenings to relax and wind up after a tiring day out in the city. They also provided towels and the locals visiting the centre were also very friendly. We were looking forward to see the Pandas in the nearby Edinburg Zoo, however, we only just found out at the hotel, that the Zoo required a printed copy, which upon request, the reception was kind enough to print us a copy of our booking, without which we would not have been able to see the Pandas at the zoo. The free Wifi connection at the hotel was also good and proved to be useful in making bookings online for various attractions and planning our trips. The Staff particularly Kate at the reception was very helpful and gave us all the necessary information for the best attractions to see in the city. We had a best stay at Best western hotel and would not hesitate to stay again in the same hotel if we do decide to come back to Edinburgh despite of it's location.

The problem I see is the location, which is not near the Edinburgh city. Although the bus stop is quite nearby and you can buy a day ticket for just 3.20 per day (or 1.30 single ticket) and it takes 1/2 hr to the city centre from the hotel. T.V. was provided in the room, but only had around 4 to 5 basic channels. Would be nice to have a small refrigerator in the room. The rooms have wooden floors (although covered with carpets) which was bit noisy. Lucky that we were on the top floors otherwise we would have to listen to these noises every time someone walks on the floor upstairs.

Room needed freshening on arrival smelt damp! Bar area to small not comfertable. Hotel needs a re-vamp in my opinion.

Lack of front staff

I thought that the hotel was good value for money, very comfortable with the leisure facilities and location. The food was excellent, compliments to the chef. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Apart from the odd creaking floor boards, we had no complaints. Many thanks to all the staff that looked after us.

The floor boards outside our room 207 was very creaky, so when people walked by it constantly made creaking noises but other than that we had no complaints. Our daughters stayed in room 63 and their window did not close properly. Otherwise they had a great stay too. Thank you.
