We have travelled extensively, this is by far the most pleasant, friendly, & caring hotel we have ever stayed in. The room ideal, bed extremely comfortable, food excellent, & the staff, including the owner, genuinely warm , professional & willing to "go that extra mile" to ensure we had a pleasant stay. I would certainly recommend the hotel & stay there again when next in Bolton. There was nothing to dislike, I don´t think you can be perfect, but Egerton House comes pretty close.

The staff were friendly and helpful The gardens are beautiful When I arrived there was a letter in my room warning me the hot water pressure was faulty and about to be repaired. That's true but I still managed a small hot bath so it was only a minor issue

Friendly staff with beautiful grounds. Charming hotel with comfortable facilities. Weak water pressure but not an issue.... If you are looking for a modern hotel this is not for you. Old, quaint with lots of character.

Comfortable. Welcoming. Good standard of rooms and ensuites, good facilities in general. Excellent breakfast choices included in the cost, not a sneaky add-on to make the cost appear cheaper. there is nothing to dislike about the Egerton House Hotel

Comfortable and slightly quirky layout which made it more interesting than a modern hotel! Spacious rooms and good public rooms Breakfast disappointing. Tea weak. Mushrooms tinned!!!! Scrambled eggs tasteless. Cornflakes stale. Bottled water should be provided in rooms and a fridge would be nice especially for families

Close enough to town, but far enough away to be peaceful. The sign from the road is a little obscure from the road especially near to the traffic bollard in the road

I have stayed at a number of hotels in Bolton but Egerton House is my favourite. It is neat and clean yet still has character - which is lacking in many business hotels. The staff are very friendly and always prepared to help. English breakfast is good and, although I have not used the main restaurant, I can say the food in the bar is good. TV has all the freeview channels, WiFi access is free in the bedroom and plenty of parking space. It's the only hotel in Bolton that I would recommend. The only negative I can think of is the squeaky floor-boards in some rooms. Perhaps that was only this one room as I haven't noticed it before - and it's not a big problem. Being on the outskirts of town the surrounding area is very quiet.

It was comfortable Shower and Hotwater needs upgrading. Hot water takes ages to warm and the shower is a drizzle, needs more power.

The staff were friendly & very helpful - excellent No food is available between 2pm & 6pm and check-in is after 2pm. When we arrived we wanted a quick snack e.g. sandwich and this was not available. The lovely receptionist was very helpful in directing us to somewhere we could get a bite to eat, but we would have more rather stayed in the hotel. Also my partner suffers from an animal allergy and there was a cat roaming around the hotel which caused her some discomfort.

I'm afraid for me the hotel felt tired and trading on its past reputation.Lovely location, but needs an upgrade. Not good value for money.

So love this hotel - have been going there over 30 years! Over the years, the previous owners maintained the essential character of the hotel but the private proprietor has now captured the perfect ambiance of a typical English country hotel with style and elegance. A pure joy to visit, not forgetting the lounge/bar and the essential Full English Breakfast, included in the price. Recommend Room 20! For it's pure character, this hotel has practically no faults.
