Holiday Inn Express, Chester Racecourse    

We stayed for two nights and found the whole experience excellent and will be back.

There was nothing to dislike.

Breakfast, unlimited drinks

Room too hot, toilet roll holder broken, sink(below plug) in bathroom smelt. Unable to obtain snack in the evening.

The easy access to the city

Close to the City Centre. Good Parking. Comfortable room. Tea and coffee facilities in Lounge. Friendly and helpful staff

Other than breakfast, no restaurant on site. There were some within walking distance, but some stopped selling food by 7 pm or were very expensive.

Excellent customer service, receptionist and manager were so helpful. Great position on racecourse and only 5 mins from town.

Although Room relatively modest it was extremely well planned and made best use of space but still contained everything and all at an extremely good rate - would definitely stay there again if I were to visit Chester.

staff were excellent,room was bright and very clean, the best hotel we have ever stayed in,had a ice making machine in the foyer and free coffee all day for guests

Great location with free parking. Comfortable room and a lovely surprise of bottle of wine in our room.

The hotel is in a great location, only 5min walk from city centre so great for a shopping trip and lots of great bars and restaurant.

Make sure you don't get a room at the end of the corridor as its next to the train line.

Bed was springy & lumpy made worse by very poor bed making. Mattress cover not fitted correctly and sheet not straightened when bed made. Breakfast was very basic (no bacon,eggs,tomatoes or mushrooms).

Location was the best for us, staff were very helpful and friendly. Good breakfast, the staff making sure there was enough for all!!

Our room was in close proximity to the air conditioning machine so next time we stay will make sure we get a room that is not close to it. The staff did offer to change our room but that would have been traffic noise so we stayed where we were.

everyone was up for breakfast at the same time on Sunday so a bit chaotic and busy but no real problems - just hectic

Very convenient for shopping, plenty of car park space, (& free, which isn't always the case in city hotels) plenty of choice for breakfast, clean & comfortable rooms & clean bathroom.

Plenty of car parking, nice view over the racecourse. Good shower.

Building looks a bit strange from the outside, but don't let that put you off. Very nice inside!

Friendly and helpful staff. Straightforward ease of use - booking in and checking out. Breakfast included (recent refurbishment is big improvement and looks a bit more up-market than previous decor). Parking and ease of access.

On this trip nothing to dislike but previous problem is the widely variable price range on offer - E.G. is it best to book direct with the hotel website/phone/or agent?

The breakfast did not meet the standards set or expected from a hotel where the other facilities were so good. I would suggest you take a leaf out of the Premier Inn Group and look closely at the whole breakfast scenario

Breakfast was absolutely disgusting. A full English does not consist of very salty sausage, scrambled egg and value beans.

Breakfast was terrible, very basic rooms and shabby decoration. Scuffed paint work and door frames. For a fairly new hotel I would expect a lot more. Over priced stay at £125.00 per night
