Our room was spacious and had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable.our ensuite was roomy everything worked well.Breakfast was very substantial with good choices...set you up for day ahead!
The restaurant was rather pricy. Probably the upmarket location. All restaurants in village were as well...same reason I expect.
Bed wasn't the comfiest
Excellent evening meal
Hotel was very clean and the staff very friendly, great location in the heart of the village. We ate in the hotel restaurant and the food was very nice. Would definately come back.
The location was excellent as we could walk round the town in the evening. The room was very comfortable and the staff were super.
Parking was sometimes an issue.
The location in town was great. The staff was very nice and helpful and the pub was a great place to eat (both for dinner and breakfast). The rooms were comfortable and a great base for exploring the Cotswolds.
The room was a little cramped with the sofa bed pulled out for the kids and our double bed. It was okay for one night but more than one night would have been too much.
Food, we had dinner and breakfast which were lovely. staff nice, room very clean and roomy. Although a pub no real noise from the bars.
Superior king room has a beam which you have to duck under to enter if over 5ft 4 ish and same with one side of bed due to sloping ceiling which was ok but if you had mobility issues may be a problem. But was part of the character of the room which is what its all about really.
Friendly, welcoming staff made us feel at home. Room was large and very comfortable. Lovely breakfasts and good choice on the dinner menu.
Only drawback was the internal wall seemed very thin as we could hear the TV and guests conversations from adjoining room.
Hotel is a beautiful and traditional in a v quiet location. Rooms were clean and beautifully decorated. Staff were attentive and friendly and the food was delicious :)
Spent a single night h e 're - great value and nice room.
That it was central to the town
Our room was overlooking the courtyard/beer garden area
Location was great, room was very cosy, clean and warm. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was superb and nothing was too much trouble. We will certainly be returning and would highly recommend the Eight Bells to everyone.
There was nothing not to like!
Warm welcome and although we had a small room it was adequate for 1 night and had everything we needed.
Parking on street, not sure how this would be in the busy season. Restaurant food ok but expensive for what was well presented pub grub.
Always an enjoyable, friendly and value for money stay. Food was excellent and the beer was cold.
location Breakfast atmosphere
Very friendly and helpful staff, nothing too much trouble. I booked here as it was my husband's 40th birthday and wanted somewhere special, we weren't disappointed. We also ate in the restaurant and the food was fantastic. I'm sad to say that I was so full there was no room to try pudding! The breakfast was equally amazing. We would definately stay again.
Only a minor complaint - I think our room was over the bar so some bar noise but didn't go on late
The staff, the ambience,the location.
Nothing, not to like
The food in the evening was lovely fresh and very hot and a lovely atmosphere in the lounge area. Really chilled and a nice evening for relaxing .
We thought the rooms were a bit noisy, the people in the next room weren't very considerate thats all.
The wonderful location; the excellent food; the charming medieval building; the comfortable room (the extremely hot water!); the no-hassle free wifi
(No) parking; the thin walls in our bedroom; the shouty drinking games in the bar
Very cosy old pub, rooms were clean and warm. Pub offered great food for breakfast and dinner. Pub was in a beautiful village with a great atmosphere. Would definitely go back
Warm friendly good ale comfortable room
Shower poor food overpriced
Very friendly staff and management. Great bar and food. Very comfortable room.
Don't know if the people in the adjoining rooms were particularly noisy or not. We could here quite a lot of noise through the party walls from 7.00am .
Incredibly friendly staff, real family atmosphere, the food in the pub is superb, I had loin of pork which was 5 star and of Gastro Pub status. The ambience is delightful, very comfy and large bedroom, couldn't wish for more. You must try this place.
Just about everyhing
Bed could have been slightly firmer and wi-fi tended to cut out.
The location is excellent and the building has lots of character. There is an extensive breakfast menu and the veggie breakfast is very tasty. It is a lovely area for walking. I would highly recommend Chipping Campden for a mini break.
