Eight Bells was a highlight of our seven day trip through England. We were looking for a traditional pub meal/stay and Eight Bells definitely delivered. First off - it's always a good sign when the bartender shows you to your room. Instantly we knew this place was the real deal. We had the largest room which was loaded with charm. And the pub was bustling with some of the friendliest folks we'd encountered on the trip. (Plus dogs in the bar was a bonus! Probably one of the coolest things about the area.) Second - the location was fantastic. We were able to stroll the shops and take a hike through stunning hillsides and return to our centrally located hotel. It was perfect. Lastly, the food and drink were excellent. We had a wonderful dinner and an extremely charming fireside breakfast in the morning. Everything about our stay was a delight. If you're looking for a place to stay or stop during your Cotswolds visit - add this to your list!
We couldn't get the shower to work properly and had intended to say something, but everyone was so wonderful that we didn't even feel like talking about it. We enjoyed ourselves so much that the shower wasn't a big deal. Otherwise, our stay was perfection.
The room was warm and had all that you needed. The restaurant and bar were the best for atmosphere in the village, but make sure you book at table as many were disappointed. The location was perfect for the village shops etc. and there are several easy countryside walks direct from the hotel.
No real complaints but if you're picky...... Arriving lunchtime on a Saturday, there was no where to park near the hotel. The Wifi was quite poor (but did you really expect the designers to take that into account when putting in the 12" thick walls, 400 yrs ago?)
We loved the location, the friendliness of the staff and the Inn itself. The breakfasts were just right and the dinners were excellent. We thought that the on street parking might be a problem but it was fine.
Location of hotel, warm comfortable surroundings.
Room somewhat tired, aged shower, cracked window pane in room.
Excellent friendly staff - nothing was too much trouble
Appearance, atmoshphere, character, room layout, free wifi, food and ale selection. Room was comfortable and catered for more than what I needed.
Bathroom (not toilet) could have been cleaner, but I'm being picky now!
The room was quirky, I loved the exposed beams and the bed was extremely comfortable The breakfast was good value with two courses and lots of choice.
Location and they were very flexible when I suddenly had to leave, not charging full price for remaining of booking. Lovely breakfast
Bathroom not that spotless and generally could do with being refurbished.
the location and the food: a good dinner, a good breakfast and a good soup of the day.
My room was outside and the enter pass by the service area.
The hotel was great the location was perfect. And the staff could not be any better. I would recommend staying at the eight bells.
Bar and staff
Staff were all efficient and friendly breakfast was good with enough options room was good size and comfortable
Parking was only real problem found space outside but when moved found it difficult to park anywhere near on return
Cosy Bar Breakfast Food Location Ambience
perhaps top end on price but worth it
Location is good, food is nice and staffs are friendly.
I liked breakfast, however not everything was available from the menu. Good location and on street parking.
The bathroom needs a bit of renovation.
Breakfast was excellent
Noise at night plus mold on bathroom walls.
This charming old B & B is a very nice place to stay. The staff is friendly and helpful, the room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The breakfast was generous and the 2 nights we had dinner at their restaurant were very good. Not only is it well located within Chipping Campden to walk in the area, but the town itself is very convenient to use as a base to see the area.
Everything was great.
Atmosphere was excellent.
Lovely location in quaint village . Close to other towns and Stratford Upon Avon . Ease of parking out front.
Great location, great food, wonderful pub. Chipping Campion is the best.
Quiest little market town like from a postcard. Perfect for relaxed weekend strolling around.
Hard to criticise really. Wouldn't suit people looking for an action packed weekend.
Eight Bells Inn was a beautiful inn right in the heart of the Cotswolds. Our room was spacious and comfy. Others wrote reviews about poor water pressure/temperature but everything worked very well for us. The cookies (biscuits) they left for us each day were a nice treat. The pub is wonderful with great service and a menu of delicious foods. We ate there twice. Julie and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend.
Older World setting.
Lack3d any interaction from staff.Bed too low and uncomfortable.fairs to bedrooms very steep and difficult to cvarry cases for elderly people.Staff very brusque when refusing a request at dinner.
Stayed in this wonderful pub in Aug 2014 for a night. Beautiful little town to stop and enjoy. The pub on a quiet street just around the corner from the shops, and nice people that run it. Loved having an excellent dinner and breakfast provided on premises. Would defo stop there again.
location staff food room decor village locals and old rosie on tap in the hotel bar eight reasons to love the eight bells inn
