Room, decor, food, every was just right for our anniversary weekend away
putting on weight as a result of the generous breakfast arrangements.
Very nice b & b. Nice room and comfortable bed. Beautiful breakfast with lots of choice, and in a lovely dining room.
Nothing not to like at all!
Lovely comfortable bed. Nice touches, such as home made jam, bread and chutneys. Fab breakfast. Would return and recommend
It's a minor gripe but a later breakfast would be good, though there is an option to have tea and toast at 9.30
clean modern rooms .excellent food and plenty of it. plus attention to detail ,
My mother and I came to travel in Ambleside, the location is very good indeed, very convenient and close to town centre, there is a pier to travel on the lake just 5 min walk from our place. The bed, duvet and the bed sheet were all brilliant! The most comfortable one I've ever slept! All things were excellent!
Great location, fantastic hosts and great breakfast.
Elder Grove was everything we could wish for in a break away, the owners and staff were extremely friendly and helpfull, the food was first raye and the four poster bed the icing on the cake. Would thoroughly recommend Elder Grove as a first rate establishment.
location room (very calm) our hosts were very helpful
wifi very weak shower system not optimum
Everything, the hosts were so welcoming and the place excellent. Location was good ans within easy walking of Ambleside. I would defininately recommend the Elder Grove
Warm friendly atmosphere
Location brilliant for Ambleside shops and restaurants. Generous breakfast with options and nice public areas in the guest house.
Parking is a bit tight for a large estate car but this is a minor point.
Clean Comfortable Excellent breakfast
Breakfast was superb, Vicki and Paul were great hosts who readily assisted and nothing was ever too much trouble for them.
Excellent breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely stay there again on next visit to Ambleside.
We had a couple of very good days staying at this B&B for the first time, Lakes Lodge up the road being full. But Elder Grove was really very good all round except for the traffic noise which wasn't fully resolved with closed windows.
Traffic noise at front of house
Friendly staff, good food and always happy to help.
Good location, cosy room, comfortable bed, good breakfast, convenient parking. Didn't make use of maps, umbrellas, cake etc. But I'm sure its all good.
What a little gem !!! Just back from a 3 night stay in this exceptional B & B. Lots of of little touches to make your stay memorable - what more could you ask for. Individually designed & decorated rooms , great breakfast with locally sourced products , great tourist and walking information -maps, leaflets & vouchers , shoe trays for muddy boots ( brillant !!) - you can even borrow a flask and a rucksack !!! Ideally located 5 minutes walk for the shops & amenities & 15 minutes walk to the lake & pier . Lovely period property -thoughtfuly converted -even has a small bar ( check out the fire brigade theme- Paul is a retained firefighter !)and comfy TV lounge and free carparking. First visit to Ambleside -will definitely be going back to Elder Grove
Nothing at all !!!!!
Very nice, clean and in great location!
Great choice for breakfast. The room was well appointed with an excellent shower and toiletries. Just off the centre of Ambleside so all the restaurants and pubs are just a couple of minutes walk. Paul and Vicky were very friendly and helpful.
Couldn't fault it
A brilliant B&B in a 1st class location. We had a 4 poster room which was very spacious with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. The bathroom was lovely and clean, the water pressure was amazing! The breakfasts were the best ever!! Very nice touches like home made bread, muesli, jams and marmalades. Really couldn't fault anything.
Can't think of anything!!!
Good Beds, Good breakfast in super room,Friendly owners. off road parking
Well where to start with the good things about this place - Its hard as there is a very long list! From the minute you arrive you are made to feel welcome by Paul & Vicky. Our room (Rm 6) was spacious and had everything you could possibly need including the lovely touch of a teapot, bottled water, biscuits and excellent quality bedding. Breakfast was plentiful, extremely well cooked and nicely presented. Pauls homemade bread, jams, marmalades and ketchup are truly amazing - I would not hesitate to stay here again in the future and will certainly recommend Elder Grove to family and friends.
There is nothing to dislike - Its is a truly wonderful place to stay. I cannot understand why it does not have 5 stars!!
Good location, service minded staff, free parking at the backyard.
