Top quality furnishings, accommodation and service
Nothing of consequence
Beautiful house, run by a friendly couple. The room was immaculate.
House backs on to elevated section of motorway, traffic noise is considerable. May have well stayed in town.
Excellent breakfast choice
The facilities were excellent and first class. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly providing a delicious breakfast.
Property beautifully cared for. Gardens delightful. Breakfast lovely.
We were disappointed to arrive and find a twin room with a separate bathroom. My mistake ticking the twin box but not happy with the separate bathroom. The web site does not tell you this. Were able to change to a double room with an en-suite but had to pay extra per night. In Australia a twin and double room are the same price with the only difference being twin beds rather than a double. The location is difficult for dining out with most local places either not serving meals or not open until later in the week. Backing out the drive is difficult with the road being very busy.
clean and very helpful
parking a bit tight
High quality accommodation in an well kept well decorated house. Excellent breakfast.
No car turn around space so had to reverse out onto the main road which fortunately is not too busy.
Although there was some confusion over our booking this was quickly and efficiently dealt with. David and Dawn are excellent hosts operating a welcoming and comfortable place to stay.
Dawn and David are wonderful, welcoming people who did everything they could to accommodate our needs and help us enjoy our stay. My fifteen-year-old daughter and I had a wonderful two-day stay in their lovely house, surrounded by beautiful gardens.
The only thing they could tweak would be the wi-fi, which worked great in the guest lounge but was intermittent at best from our room.
Very pleasant owner. Lovely destination.
Small bed for a tall guy! Motorway a bit noisy at night with the window open. Not too bad however.
This was a delightful guest house, beautiful rooms, wonderful gardens, very comfortable and an excellent breakfast. The proprietors David and Dawn, are simply the most welcoming and gracious hosts.I would highly recommend Elder Lea to anyone.
Cleanliness of property
Twin room did not have ensuite bathroom it was outside bedroom even though nobody else used this bathroom.
Nothing was too much trouble. The whole house was impeccably clean, the food was very good and the service excellent.
We were not too keen on a separate bathroom (not en-suite) however it was just next door and for our sole use.
Lovely welcome and helpful hosts. Comfy room and great breakfast! Beautiful house and garden - a little oasis very close to where I was working.
The reception was warm and the advice provided regarding places to eat and other aspects of our stay was invaluable.
Backing out of the drive!!
Excellent B&B with some very nice personnal touches. Local pub very good for food.
The owners, David & Dawn, were very welcoming and friendly. Comfortable rooms Picturesque gardens Nice cooked breakfast
Quite a narrow driveway so can be tricky reversing out onto main road.
Welcoming and attentive hosts. High standard of accommodation. Very good breakfast. Overall a very good place to stay. The positives far outweighed the two minor negatives.
We stayed in November and the weather was getting cold at night. The temperature in our room was cooler than we are used to and the radiator did not put out enough heat. If travelling by car to this house, be prepared to reverse up a long narrow drive. There is no turning round on the drive and visibility when reversing into the road is poor.
Comfortable room, well decorated, every facility I needed, friendly proprietors, great breakfast, locally sourced food where possible
We would have preferred separate tables in the dining room.
Nice people, good accommodation, very good standards all round
Very warm welcome from a kind host. Nice, typical English b&b with superb breakfast.
