Monika (the B&B hostess) was extremely helpful and welcoming.
You have to walk up 5 flights of stairs to get to the B&B, but for us it was worth it
Location, good breakfast,old charm hotel
Breakfast Location Friendliness of staff En suite Coffee and tea making facilities in the room
Noise from outside Warm room Uncomfortable mattress
Good central location.
Full Breakfast not until 9am so had to do with toast. On a busy road.
Situation, friendly staff, cleanliness, excellent breakfast.
The shower room would benefit from an overhaul as the shower lacked power and the tiles, fittings etc were past their best. Family room situated close to a busy road limited sleep.
Attentive and friendly owner who made us feel very welcome. Looking forward to coming to use again and again.
A lot of stairs but this was totally made clear prior to booking.
Location and the friendliness of our hosts. Had a wonderful two days.
The owners are super-friendly, we arrived rather late at night and were still welcomed in a most accommodating manner. Room was very quiet (as requested). Lovely breakfast (vegetarian option available). Location is perfect, only a short walk from the castle. We would definitely stay there again.
A proper lock on the bathroom door would be nice and the shower did not have a lot of water pressure (it's an old building though, so I guess this can't be easily changed). Otherwise nothing to complain about!
The stairs to reception and the rooms. A bit noisy with the busses and trams
greeted well, not overly bothering you ,but there if needed with advise and suggestions. rooms nice and clean plenty tea/coffee and a teapot (nice touch).nice white towels. lots of choice for breakfast and nicely/promptly served. would definitely recommend and use again. very close to centre.
Location. WIFI signal excellent.
Harry was very welcoming and made us feel at home. Breakfast was excellent. Would definitely stay there again.
location & breakfast
still fit enough to climb the stairs
The location was very good, the breakfast was excellent and the host outstanding
Our view but not everyone can have front view
Location, friendly staff, lovely breakfast, clean room and comfy bed
Good value, well situated ,well maintained and nice decorations with added extras, very helpful staff, good cooked breakfast. Will be going back overall a Excellant weekend.
We stayed with our teenage daughters who loved having a bigger room than us. The breakfast was to die for my husband loved the porridge and cooked Scottish breakfast. We would recommend this guest house to anybody, good location and fantastic friendly staff. Can't wait to go back one day.
Not a good guest house for people with mobility problems as it is on the third floor and the only way to get there is a lot of stairs no lift.
Listed building. Very homely atmosphere. Friendly family run guest house. Lovely cooked to order breakfast. Willingness by our hosts to help us make the most of our stay in Edinburgh with their local knowledge.
The stairs to get to the accommodation but given every assistance with our luggage.
warm welcome from Murray, spotless room, very warm radiator(much needed after getting soaked in rain!!) lots of tea and coffee, excellent breakfast, round the corner from Princes Street, good bed
They were so obliging. We had to leave early to catch a bus. Breakfast wasn't served until 9.00 a.m. but the manageress insisted on cooking us scrambled eggs and smoked salmon so we wouldn't leave without a good meal. Very nice room well equipped.
Obviously the stairs were a big drawback but once you were in the hotel proper it didn't matter.
Great value for money, very clean and well presented, staff also really nice. Would keep this place in mind for our visit in the near future, also the breakfast is a amazing, good choice of menu.
Superb location and facilities whilst the owners went out of their way to be hospitable. Breakfast was a delight. First rate on all fronts. Strongly recommend
The staff were brilliant especially 'Murray' and the young lady to hat came on duty after him, sorry didn't catch her name. The breakfast was lovely, plus the buffet breakfast on offer, plenty of tea, coffee, sugar, hot chocolate, biscuits and importantly milk in the room, bed comfy, room clean and well presented, bathroom compact but fully functional and clean. Wifi easy to access, TV great....thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back and recommend this lovely we'll run guest house...also good value for money...but don't take my word for it....try it yourself.....
Nothing....the stairs were a bit of a bind at first but you soon got used to them and they were great exercise....however you are warned about them before hand so you can't say fairer than that and I stand by everything I've said!.....
