Staff really friendly, John was so lovely with us. My friends are vegan and he prepared a special breakfast for them. He gave us a lot of touristic info and suggestions. Rooms really huge and comfortable.
2 miles from the center, but taxis are really cheap, so don't worry.
Friendly welcome. Exotic breakfast, e.g. Pears poached in wine. High standard of cleanliness. Size of room.
Prefer en-suite bathroom.
Friendly welcome from John. Spacious and elegant room. Interesting breakfast (not the usual fry-up). Bathroom next door. Freshly laundered bathrobe. Valuable guidance on places to eat, getting round the city, etc. Excellent value for money.
Elegant house is typical of the Victorian Houses in the area. The quality of welcome, local knowledge and breakfast is better than any we have had staying in this area. We felt comfortable and well looked after. John was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about places to visit in Liverpool which would make your stay so much more. Lovely thoughtful touches in the room. Continental breakfast is fresh from local deli's and bakery, caters for most tastes and in a kitchen which makes you feel at home in the nicest way.
The front steps could be a challenge to anyone with mobility issues.
Perfect Location from City. Staff were beyond helpful. Very comfortable stay.
The best place in Liverpool! 10 points in all: house, room, bed, superclean, the best bed in a lot of time!! And... More... Best breakfast in the room, in a beautiful room, was perfect! Thanks Arthur & Carol.
Impossible to find something bad.
John was a great host.. Room spacious and comfortable..
Everything for my stay was good.
The friendliness, the helpfulness and the interior of such a grand old Victorian townhouse. The convenience to the waterfront by taxi and the tarif was very reasonable.
The only criticism I have was not having a wardrobe in the bedroom so unable to hang up my clothes. As my stay was only for one night it was not an issue but for a longer stay it would have been.
Big rooms, simple but clean. Close drive to town. A walk to Albert Dock would take at least 45 mins but a very easy and close drive. Nice breakfast. Close to Lark Lane restaurants and pubs. Place still being renovated so no sign out front but good instructions from owner who also did his own "Ringo Starr " tour for us as Ringo grew up in the area ( an added bonus for Beatles fans).
Maybe a TV and some tissues and hair dryer in bedrooms would make the facilities that little better. Essentials when doing a long travel.
great house, charming host, excellent food, lots of interesting people at the breakfast table
Friendly service. Good location
Had to go into corridor to access bathroom
Host was great
No tv in room, no tea or coffee in room
Breakfast, location and slippers
Good Location , Friendly reception from owner (met me at gate)
Facilities dated and a little lacking, no Tv in room no Ensuite although I had a private bathroom next door. No evening meal facility. Parking was free ,but on street. I didn't like the idea that I could be booked in to this place ,but the owner sometimes rented rooms in other houses in the vicinity and guests would have to return to elegant house for breakfast.
Enough parking places for the car. Big room, Good breakfast with freshfruit and tasty Bread and John the owner is very helpfull and make,s you feeling at home
The first impression from the outside of the the house was not elegant, but John told us it would-be fixed in a couple of weeks
The accommodation was exemplary. Breakfast was great
No tea making facilities. I like a cup of tea on waking . I didn't appreciate the comment that one can get that in a premier inn. One can also get that in 5★ hotels.
We stayed at number 44 off road secure parking. It was a lovely house. John was very helpful - pointing us in the right direction. Thank you.
Had everything I needed and was a very comfy and friendly place to be.
Quirky but very reasonable and a lovely warm welcome
Just a caution for disabled the stairs are tough .
Owner John was incredibly helpful
Sorry a minor detail and pathetic but would've liked a TV!
Elegant House was the perfect base to explore the area around Princes and Sefton Park. Very good welcome and excellent breakfast and would certainly recommend it. Will stay there again on future visits.
Nice breakfast made on request
It took us a long time to find the hotel as it has no sign! This is to stop people knocking on the door late at night - but the house number should have been given to us in advance, rather than in a text message the same day when my phone battery was dead. Tried to call the hotel many times on another phone but no-one was picking up. That was extremely irritating and delayed us getting to a wedding!
The location, the staff. We cant leave a 'like' on Elegant House as when we arrived there. we was moved to a 'friends' house and ended up in a spare bedroom he had! Next day we went back to Elegant House for breakfast.
Not being able to stay at Elegant House when that is where we had booked to stay. We was moved to a 'friends house' and slept in a spare bedroom. Didnt like having to drive back to Elegant House for breakfast. Breakfast very poor. A few cold meats, fruit etc. Took 30 mins to recieve 2 half slices of toast. Couldnt wait to leave. A great shame ive had to say all this as the hosts were fantastic people. But i would definately not stay there again. We had no tea making facilities in our room, but then again, we cant expect that as we stayed in a freinds spare room and not Elegant House! No locks on the doors either. We dare not leave anything in the room when we went out. The owner of the house we slept in was a fantastic guy, but really, this isnt what you would expect from booking a B & B.
Traditional guest house.warm welcome our host john couldn't have been more helpful.
Friendly and unpretentious- what you saw you got.
The lighting was a bit dim
