St Bees beach is fabulous.
As well as the beach there's a little brook under the bridge to the caravan site and walks. Our 5 year-old grandson loved setting up stepping stones and building dams when the beach was too windy.
Also - there's an abundance of fresh water cress growing in the brook which was a delicious find.
The playground is excellent
We loved staying at the Seacote hotel. Family rooms are very comfortable and the cleaning staff were wonderful.
Breakfast and all our meals there were good - except our grandson would have liked to have had a proper pizza, not the sad effort supplied for children!

Lovely little seaside town with a great beach.
Lovely little seaside town with a great beach. Nice cliff top walks and nice to wonder around the village looking at all the old buildings for a couple of hours. Only saw one small shop so would need to bring food or go shopping in whitehaven (about 10mins drive away).

Brilliant location, room was very good.
Brilliant location, room was very good. The only point of criticism is that the room was not cleaned until 4 days into the stay with the excuse that they were really busy. I expected better from a hotel. Would go again simply because it is right on the beachfront.

It is a quiet pretty village - only one shop but 3 pubs.
It is a quiet pretty village - only one shop but 3 pubs. No tourist attractions which is not a bad thing. The centre of the village is about 1/2mile from the beach. The beach is big and good for walking dogs
We found the local rail service very useful and were able to use it to visit other places on the cumbrian coast. We had an enjoyable day taking the narrow gauge railway from Ravenglass up through Eskdale. Whitehaven is worth a visit (only 10 minutes on the train) - we enjoyed the Beacon Museum on the waterfront. We also enjoyed the 7 mile coastal walk from St Bees to Whitehaven

Great for the outdoor and nature enthusiasts.
Great for the outdoor and nature enthusiasts. Good beach and leisure facilities within walking distance and plenty of hill and coastal walks for the fit and healthy....some walks very steep!
St Bees was during our stay vibrant and caters for all age groups. The Queens Hotel was lively and has a well support quiz night on Thursdays. The huge car parking area at the beach suggests that this is a popular resort all year round.
The cottage is beautifully kept and supplied with any facilities you could need during your stay. There are 3 large bedrooms and space to sleep 6 guests in 2 doubles and 1 set of bunk beds. Our dog loved running about in the garden and the hot tub was the perfect place to relax after a day of walking around Whitehaven or St Bees. Our host left a very generous amount of food to welcome us as well and WiFi is available at the property. We will definitely be returning for another stay soon!
Really nicely presented room with comfy bed and en suite bathroom. There was a communal fridge available and tea/coffee facilities in the room. Breakfast choices available and the scrambled egg on toast was really good. Jill was a very friendly host. 3 minute drive into St Bees or Egremont for dinner or shops should you need anything.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The full cooked breakfast was fantastic - very hot and the portion size was very generous. The location was ideal for getting to the beach in St Bees or for catching the train through to Whitehaven. The room was large and warm (ideal for coming back from a cold day out).
Outstanding property. Well equipped, very clean, quiet, comfortable, safe, and well decorated. Good wifi (we were able to stream Amazon Prime video with no problem) St. Bees is a premier destination in the western Lake District, and we're were glad to score this stay. Would love to come back sometime.
Location was handy for the lakes walking but I'm sure booking.com said it was closer. Lovely beach location and a handy cafe nearby. Staff were helpful but as normal not enough of them. If your used to Blackpool accomodation you'll love it here. All in all not too bad just the food killed it for us ☹️
Very last minute stay due to COVID interfering with plans. The house was warm, cozy and decorated for Christmas; much more than we could have hoped for! Very clean with everything you need for a comfortable stay and a short walk from the fabulous St Bees beach.
Excellent host. I stayed for a night in the 'Gardens' with its own kitchenette and another night in the main house. Both rooms were very comfortable. The location is ideal for exporing St Bees and its lovely beach with a fine view of the Isle of Man.
The location gave us the best of both worlds, the seaside at St Bees and Whitehaven, and the Lake District beautiful scenery, lakes and mountains.
All within easy distances. Will was a very friendly cheerful and helpful chap.
I liked just about everything about this accommodation, excellent room and facilities, nice breakfast, and the hosts were friendly and informative, and just a 2 minute drive to St Bees for a evening meal.
The hotel was lovely and very clean and the people were very friendly and helpful and pets were very welcomed as we took our dog, the only problem I had was WIFI, the breakfast was very good.
Great location next to the sea with friendly staff. Walking distance to town. Fantastic place to stay if you're planning to walk the C2C as it's located very close to the trailhead.
Great wee pub to stay in St Bees centre. Staff all welcoming and friendly, room really nice, good breakfast, good evening meals. Really friendly place, would love to return.
