Very impressed. Room was large, and quiet. Modern facilities and ample safe parking. Hostess was helpful. Location was excellent with the town centre not to far away. Hope to stay there again.
The welcome was warm and welcoming, the room spacious and very well appointed, and the lounge was beautiful. Breakfast was freshly cooked and served in a homely and lovely kitchen diner, will definitely come again
There was nothing to complain about
Very sociable and considerate staff, especially Jenny. Great breakfast. Dated décor (what I expect in an older B&B) but very nice and clean.
The bed was very hard, so my wife didn't seep too well.
Everything- breakfast lovely!
Having to leave
secluded family run hotel, excellent service and facilities would definitely return.
Nice and quiet, no traffic noise. If time permitted there is plenty of places to explore.
Would be nice to have breakfast included in the price.
41 minutes for a loop of the golf course: I'll be back to run it better!
Everything - just everything
The room with attached sitting room and roof terrace; comfortable beds; very good facilities.
Very small dining area for breakfast which meant you had to say the night before when you would be down for breakfast. 9 o'clock is early to finish staggered breakfast times for people on holiday.
We liked the cleanliness of the hotel and the location was good it was very quiet.
On arrival we sat outside the hotel for about 20 minutes waiting for someone to answer the door, we constantly rang the bell and knocked on the door with the door knocker. I then rang their telephone number. The call was answered then rang off I rang 4 more times before a woman answered. When I explained we were waiting outside she laughed then answered the door. We did not see any staff for the next three days. On the last morning I looked for someone so I could pay the bill with cash. The gentleman called me by the wrong name then handed me the receipt for payment. He said he had taken payment the night before from the card details I had entered when booking even though it was stated when booking, and also on their own literature in the room, that we had to pay on day of departure. Such a shame that the stay this hotel was spoiled by sloppy customer service.
Friendly staff, very welcoming
Quite location. Rooms and wardrobes were very spacious. Parking space for car. Good supply of tea bags etc - I am a heavy tea drinker! Hotel owner knew how to socialise with guests - has a nice sense of humour! I would stay at this hotel again!
On one of the nights the outside lights were not working. I had to walk to my car in total darkness. Could do with a bit more baked beans at breakfast!
The staff were very friendly and welcoming ! Well they are not staff as this is a family run business And it shows in all the very best ways - excellent breakfast - very clean And comfortable rooms - would go back for a holiday. Excellent
Breakfast was good.
TV didn't work, neither did the WiFi If you like a communal breakfast table with all the other guests then you'll love this!
The Hotel had a great ambiance about it. Our room was quite large and we were very satisfied with the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff who went out of their way to help my wife who is disabled. If we are in this area again we will certainly use this hotel if it's available.
The scarlet painted ceiling was a little disconcerting,
Very friendly staff, beautiful rooms in lovely surroundings. Overnight stay for family for graduation in Portsmouth. Would come back for a longer stay.
I loved the peace and quiet of Ellerslie House. I was able to come and go in my own time. I loved the room, Room 3 was extremely comfortable, perhaps the addition of a small fridge would be beneficial.
Nothing... it was perfect for my requirements.
Location Quiet Grounds Lounges
Staff were very friendly and accomodating
I think a fuse must have blown as all the lights in our room didn't work. As we were only staying 1 night, it wasn't a big deal though.
Ellerslie house is a homely and relaxing place to stay. We had room 4 which had a roof terrace with views over the lovely garden. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. We will certainly stay there in future should we be visiting the Portsmouth area.
Everything home from home, and cooked breakfast second to none See you again sometime in the Morgan
Everything really. The owners went out of their way to see that I had the balcony room that I wanted (even though my computer froze during the transaction !!) So all ended happily. My comfortable room had a spacious balcony overlooking the grounds - complete with fountain. The weather was warm and sunny so I enjoyed the view from my balcony. A place you can unwind in after a stressful long journey. I found the owner very kind and helpful. I would definitely stay there again. Thank you everyone.
The morning coffee was instant and not ground coffee, but breakfast was very good.
Loved the character of the hotel, charming. I would describe it as slightly faded elegance. Good breakfast and staff who were very helpful and cheerful.
Liked the bed and the facilities, the location was fab for my visit.
The communal breakfast table was a bit of a surprise, I prefer to wake up and eat in relative quiet. But that's a very personal thing.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast was very good, with good choice and good value for money. The location and surrounding countryside was good for us. rooms were comfortable with all the basics provided
