The breakfast during our stay was excellent. The staff were very welcoming and hospitable. Hotel was always clean and well presented. I found the room slightly small especially for the rate I paid. However the kindness and the warm response from the staff made up for this mild disappointment. |

Lovely to look at. Convenient location for walking around town & getting buses elsewhere. Very comfortable. Great breakfast. The owner carried our bags up & downstairs for us which was great(we thought we were travelling light-not!!)Both the owner, Alistair, & the girl on duty,Janine, during our stay were excellent with directions, suggestions for meals, trips etc. We felt very welcome. |

The friendly welcoming staff, and its location within walking distance of the town. Having its own car parking was very important. The peace and quiet of the hotel and the lounge area were very relaxing and a good size. The owner was so helpful too, offering advice on where to go and what to do. |

Good quality hotel and well placed for southern lakes area. Stayed here for 2 nights and a cheaper place in north lakes area for 2 nights - difference immediately apparent - you get what you pay for. |

My boyfriend and I came to the lake district just for two days and we stayed for one night at the Ellerthwaite Lodge. Upon arrival we found the staff and Lodge itself a really lovely place and the location was perfect. We had a really lovely stay and would recommend this place to others. We both wished we could have stayed for longer. |

We felt very welcome. The staff was very friendly, the room nice and quiet, and we enjoyed a very good breakfast. Though it is a very good hotel we found it slightly overpriced considering that it has no special facilities (apart from a lounge area). But as our stay was around New Year we couldn't find anywhere else to stay and went for this more expensive option. |

Superb staff - very helpful and welcoming. Car parking, whilst convenient, was a little tight, not helped by a builder's van - not the hotal's faultt. Breakfast was good, but might have offered a better range beyond a full English - cheese and cold meats, for example. This is a suggestion rather than a complaint, by the way. |
