Although we only booked for one night, the stay was excellent. The staff were polite, friendly and helpfull; even arranging chocolates and champagne for our arrival. The room was very nice and clean to an exceptional standard |

There was free parking, which is important. The staff was wonderful. We also got vegetarian breakfast, even though they serve full English. The room we stayed in was really nice, comfortable and very clean. My husband was very happy with the hotel too :o) There was nothing a I didnt like about this hotel. Everything was very well done. It was an excellent choice by my husband! I would definitely stay there again. |

Very helpful receptionist who made suggestions re where to go and these proved really useful. Hotel itself very old with lovely funishings and furniture. only complaint would be that the toast at breakfast was burnt and when asked for fresh unburnt toast we understand the "chef" got very angry in the kitchen! |

Tea at the break fast was not good as water was smelly. probably kettle has not been cleaned. Also, There was bit of misunderstanding about payment, although I booked through this website. but in the end I paid agreed amount, so it wasn't big problem. |

It was clean and comfortable with all aspects functional. I think for the money the beds and towels could have been bigger. There was space for the bigger bed and the towels should not be a problem on the rates. |

The staff were very friendly. The emenities in the room were good. The hotel was easy to find. car parking was provided. Rooms far too hot in mornings and evening, our room was very small, probably meant for one person. The radiator in the bathroom was turned on each evening and morning making the room unbearably hot even with the window open. The room was not vacumed every day. The walls were thin, we could our hear our neighbours very clearly. Nice view of the wall of the car park. Considereing we stayed for 5 nights and there were vacancies throughout our stay apart from one night we could have been allocated a larger room. |

The hotel was clean and comfortable, with rooms refurbished to a good standard relatively recently. Plenty of parking space in private car park for guests behind the hotel. Staff were very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Cooked breakfasts were adequate but could have been better quality. |

The welcome was warming, the service excellent and the hotel was beautiful with it's traditional oak staircase and grandfather clock. It had it's own coffee shop and the morning breakfast catered for all tastes. Our room was very comfortable, with a fantastic bathroom, which was larger than expected. I found the hotel was in a good location to explore Windermere and the surrounding towns. |

staff friendly and hotel welll situated, Nice building with pleasant area to relax and watch TV in. Good sized car park bathroom too small, so washbasin had to be situated in the bedroom. L - shaped bedroon meant we couldn't see the window from our bed. |
