Warm in winter, near to restaurants and shops, off street parking, breakfast
Friendly reception Good size room Good breakfast Helpful and informative staff
Everything was good
Very nice clean hotel with free parking. Stayed in room 9 which was basic and small bathroom with sink in main room as could not fit in bathroom. Staff very friendly and nice breakfast in the morning. 15 minute walk to bowness and two minute walk to Windermere so good location. Paid £55 per night for a couple which was a fair price but would not of paid more for room
Sink not in the bathroom
The staff was very friendly and breakfast was really good. A very good choice to suit everyone. The room was sufficient, nice and warm.
There was a lot of condensation on the bedroom windows, maybe double glazing is the answer. The water was too hot in the en-suite sink tap, could be dangerous.
Friendly staff, great food, comfortable room. Pleasant surroundings.
Friendly staff, large comfortable and warm bedrooms. The en suite was modern and the shower was very warm and powerful. The breakfast was lovely, there was a nice selection of things to choose from and the hotel was close by to plenty of restaurants and only a short walk to the lake. Great value for money, we would definitely go again
Welcoming, friendly staff, clean and functional rooms. Great breakfast cooked to order.
The staff were really polite and friendly. The facilities and location of the hotel were excellent and was surprised due to how inexpensive it was. We would definitely return.
Room was a little hot but not unbearable.
The staff were extremely friendly, probably the most welcoming staff I have ever encountered. The room was perfect, and really did exceed my expectations. I have stayed in windermere and bowness 3 times recently, this was by far the cheapest and yet the best hotel I have stayed in in this area. Breakfast was great with a variety of options to chose from. I would definitely recommend to others and look forward to my next stay!
Restricted hours for breakfast..... For a leisure weekend, breakfast finishing at 9.30 is just a tad early in my view...
Breakfast and staff were lovely. The cleaner a very lovely man, we had left an I pad behind and he kindly got us contacted to let us know.
The room we were staying in was like a little boys room, blue walls and beige carpet and white bed. No bath, Very basic. it was almost like our room was situated in a different hotel, As the rest of the hotel (reception was lovely). When told them about this, they said it's because we had not paid for superior. And no rooms were left.
Nice staff very friendly, clean, good breakfast.
Our room (number 12 ) should be a single room as was very cramped and had no bath only a shower room, as it was on a gable end was not ideal for anyone tall.
The welcoming was perfect x
That the room was to small and the waitress on the morning was to over the top and loud, everyone who was having breakfast was looking at each other laughing as she was so loud
From the first time we stepped through the door we were made welcome check in was swift and we were shown the room all we needed for our stay was their Breakfast was plenty with polite and friendly staff I would recommend this place for all the above We would book again
The location to shops and restaurants is excellant and within easy walking distance. A warm welcome upon arrival and a nice cooked breakfast. Nice big bathroom with nice towels.
The bed was not comfortable and the room hot. Lots of condensation on windows in morning which resulted in lot of water running onto windowsill and very near wires of the TV. Decor in room a bit dated.
Great location lovely hotel very helpful staff was ll be staying again next year
Could not fault in any way
Nice an quite & peaceful
A lot of stairs
We found the hotel charming, spotlessly clean, spacious and central. The breakfast was just lovely and the fact that it was formerly an Edith Cavell rest home for nurses gave it a fab historical setting and vibe, the upstairs lounge with its stained glass windows was so pretty and relaxing. Alex pollitzi would be very proud. Staff very friendly and informative.
Nice friendly staff in a very good location.
up in the gods and both myself and my husband had bumps and bruises due to having to manoever round the bed to get into it. My husband also banged his head on the sloping ceiling.
Nice building and communal areas. Parking was very convenient, so close to Windermere town centre
Rooms was smallish but functional
Our host was very polite and efficient. The breakfast was very good too. Good places to eat within walking distance. Pleanty of off-street parking. A very pleasent stay.
Lovely welcome from staff on arrival, quick check in and out. Nice(but a bit tired)clean room. Great breakfast choice...overall a great place to stay a a reasonable price.
Central to all amenities. Very friendly and professional. Quiet area of Windermere. Very comfortable accommodation and rather quirky.
Noise from traffic
Location, top quality hotel.
Not staying another night loved the accommodation.
