Macdonald Elmers Court Hotel & Resort  

We required a Hotel in the Lymington area. We hadnt stayed at the Hotel before but due to the fact it was very reasonably priced we booked 'room only' for just the one night as we had to set off early the next day. The Hotel was situated in a superb spot, though close to Lymington; unfortunately we didnt have the opportunity on this visit to take advantage of the walks. Hotel staff were friendly on arrival and departure. We were delighted with the privacy of our room, as we were in one of the chalet sytle bedrooms located outside the main Hotel building. The room was spacious, very welcoming, very comfortably and very quiet. We didnt use the Leisure Facilities or either of the Restaurants as we'd pre booked somewhere in Lynmington but it was nice to have a choice of dining should we have wanted. We will definitely go back.

Friendly staff

Overpriced especialy breakfast. Ridiculous add ons.Fine dining restaurant mediocre at best with surcharges on half the meals. Breakfast £17.50 for one egg two rashers and a tiny sausage then to be made to choose either beans, black pudding or hashbrowns and to add insult to injury a surcharge for a kipper. I had a better breakfast the next day for £5 in the town. The gym offers free swimming or steam room but it is £10 to gain entry "ludicrous". Supposedly a top end hotel with instant coffee in the rooms and to buy a half decent coffee you need to buy breakfast. They should charge £20 more per room with breakfast and no hidden costs then clients could make the decision before having no real choice.

Over complicated system for signing account items and just a little too stuffy in service etiquette making simple things like ordering a beer a frustrating time consuming experience. Staff were great just heavily bound by systems.

wonderful grounds

The staff at Elmers Court were without exception extremely helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble and they made our stay extremely enjoyable. The grounds are beautiful, the food in the restaurant superb, good leisure facilities and a lovely location within walking distance of Lymington.

It was clean, comfortable and in a beautiful place. The leisure facilities were good and children are well catered for as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

If there is a little negative it would have been the serving staff in the Sails bar one of the gentlemen required a personality transplant he actually bordered on being surly.

The resort was well placed for Lymington, the New Forest and the Isle of Wight Ferry There was plenty to do on sight in terms of sports facilities. We only stayed on an accommodation only break. Lymington has a varied selection of restaurants.

Nothing. For the price I paid it was good value for money. As my daughter and I were staying on a room only basis it would have been nice to have had a small fridge in the room.

After the very recen death of a much loved one, Elmer Court provided me with a haven of tranquility in a lovely setting. Your staff were very efficient, helpful and approachable but also.non- intrusive which is exactly how I needed them to be at that time. The whole experience of Elmer Court made me feel much better.

It provided everything we needed for a short break in the south of England. Many places of interest are nearby. The accomodation was warm and comfortable. The staff were helpful.

It is inconvenient to have to walk outside in poor weather to get to the restaurants. There was confusion over our entitlement to 2 or 3 course evening meal. This needs to be more clearly stated on the booking confirmation. The upstairs rooms could be difficult for people with walking difficulties.
