Elmfield Country HouseArrathorne, DL8 1NE Bedale (Show map) Wonderful, Score from 42 reviews“Nice quiet location, if it is peace and quiet you want this is the place. The owner cannot do enough for you. We wanted to go for an evening meal, and the owner gave us a list of local eating places, and when we had selected one, booked us a table. Would stop there again. Another plus that we got a free upgrade to a fourposter bedroom. ”

We were made very welcome, given tea and excellent cake. Our room was extremely pleasant with a lovely outlook and it was spotless. We were assisted in booking an evening meal at a local public house and would be only too happy to return on another occasion.

Excellent place to stay, ideal location for access to so many areas within this part of Yorkshire. Emma was a fountain of knowledge on places to eat and visit and treats guests as members of the family. The room was very good, breakfast was great and the Parkin was very nice. Will return soon

This delightful guest house was situated in the middle of the countryside, set back (up a long drive) from a quiet road - the location is superb. Our short stay was incredibly peaceful. We were greeted by Emma the proprietor and provided with wonderful tea and home made cake (included in the price). Our room with four poster bed was excellent in all respects, including the views from the windows. Dinner was extra - a fixed menu and quite simple but beautifully cooked and of superb quality. The home made pudding was spectacular... In short, Elmfield Country House provided us with an ideal stop over on a journey back from Scotland to the East Midlands.

My wife and i only stayed 3 nights as planned, the hotel is nice and quiet with a lovely conservatory where we all had breakfast. The breakfast was excellant, Emma is very keen to please everybody who stays with them, nothing is too much trouble. We would stay there again without any hesitation. the bed was very comfortable did not notice any difference it being a four poster?? maybe i am just getting old! If i had to find a fault it would be , the dividing wall between the rooms was a stud wall, so you could hear the people talking in the next room. Good job they did not snore!

The hotel was of exceptional quality down to the tiny details. The field room that I stayed in was amazing and was a perfect birthday present for my partner. The owner of the hotel was very welcoming and inviting and made our stay really comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. Top marks and cant wait to stay there again.

Lovely place and location. Very friendly staff with a can do policy. Nothing was too much trouble from providing information to booking a table at the local pub for dinner. If in the area again would definitely used Elmfield Country House

The warm welcome with tea and cake was wonderful. Emma was helpful and friendly and organised our meal out on the Saturday night which was wonderful to have this side of things taken care of and it was a very good recommendation. The place was spotless and breakfast in the conservatory was superb.

The breakfast was excellent, the hostess (Emma) was welcoming and attentive. It was a pleasant stay. The room was perfectly ok but very plain in its decorations. Minor niggle, though. The shower didn't work properly - again, fairly minor

My husband and I stayed with our granddaughter and great grandson. We all thought that everything was very good and slept well. The only criticism is the location which was very difficult to find as there is no proper address. It needs better directions I would warn anyone about this who intends staying
