Descent down to earth people both Management,Staff and Guests. See you next week
Comfortable clean bed
Passing the kitchen showed an unsightly scene. Thus, did not have the paid for breakfast Door handle to enter the hotel greasy.
This hotel is good but tied & needs some TLC but we had good value for money & the breakfast was excellent coudnt want for any better to set us up for the day. location was easy access to the town centre. We would stay there again
We only had one pillow each. The single room my sister was given was on a different floor from my husband & I & was very small & no toilet but had a shower & hand basin the toilet was in the corridor my sister was a bit disturbed by this.
Rooms were minimal, and VERY shabby , dirty and badly maintained. Route to rooms difficult to negotiate so did not want to think about a fire alarm scare....
The whole hotel needs a major Clean. Extension leads hanging For tv and kettle.bathroom Filthy it was a joke.oh and no Plug in basin.stinks of curry as Soon as you walk in the entrance. We are not happy bunnies.
Even for that kind of money, this is a very poorly maintained place. Even the room and the bed had not been done on my arrival. Stay away from this place if there is any choice.
Good price. Good parking Television good Bed good
A bit run down No tea offered at breakfast Tea and coffee making equipment in the room..but no cups No shampoo or shower gel in the room. Old beds and bedding dumped out at the back of the hotel
Location of hotel good.Easy parking. Room good size. Overall very good for price. Would stay again.
Hot tap on sink not working, but shower etc.OK
Private bathroom. Close to town centre.
The shower was VERY small. Even though there was wifi I wasn't given the code. Breakfast should be till at least half 9 not 9. Instructions on how to use the heating should be available. I was freezing.
I read a lot of negative feedbacks about this hotel but I was positively surpised. The room was basic but clean and the bed was new and comfortable. The bathroom was somewhat outdated yet clean and the shower worked properly. A big plus is definitely the free breakfast and wifi. The parking is quite big. I would recommed this hotel to anyone who is looking for a budget accommodation.
Pillows were too thin.
As mentioned in a review I read 'Decor tired'. In need of a bit of work.
Ease of off road parking Good food at a fair price Friendly staff Good value for money
The Elmhurst hotel is ideal if you want somewhere to fall a kip after a night on the town. We came up for the weekend and chose the Elmhurst because it was cheap and only a short taxi-ride away from the club. I was pleasantly surprised by the breakfast and bar facilities, and the night porter was both friendly and kind enough to let us in at 3 am.
However the television in the room didn't have BBC 1 hooked up to it, which meant that despite getting up early I had to then trek all the way to the bar to catch the tail-end of Match of the Day. Also the WiFi was fairly non-existent. Other than that though, job done, and I definitely will be back.
Fair price. Large car park.
Bed comfortable Room nice and warm Shower nice and hot Breakfast was included for the price, but I did not try it as I had exams at the nearby Uni and couldn't face eating breakfast beforehand!
Minimal toiletries/towels; had to ask for hairdryer as none in room Noisy residents in rooms next door kept me awake at night As a single female traveler I felt this hotel was more orientated to the male/business traveler
Staff are polite and helpful
it is ok regads to price I paid
is so important to let know the passengers that this hotel is outside of Reading and have to take a bus number 17.
Nice general atmosphere.
Orders at breakfast table were not expedient, as in one case it was forgotten. No shampoo in bathroom. Wifi was not working in the room, but fine in the reception area Cleaning personnel left towels on the floor in the corridor for a fortnight
Room was comfortable and spacious
Dirty shower, mould, rusty soap holder which didn't hold the soap. Just warm water, not hot. No Wifi, then weak, then nothing. No help from the receptionist. Breakfast poor, brought wrong selection, no toast [had to ask] no cereals in view. Poached egg was solid. Smoke Alarm was covered with plastic bag; smelly room with window wide open??
Some of the breakfast, but we expected a buffet, as nothing was displayed, so we could not choose cereals, for example.
Just about everything else. There were NO directions on the intro letter, and the wrong area was given, so we wasted several hours looking for you, and as such we had to cancel our family dinner, which was the sole reason for the 1 night visit from France.
The radiator in my toom had no thermostatic control (or indeed any other sort of control), so it wasn't possible to turn it down. Thus the room was too hot for me all night, and there was nothing I could do about it.
Decent Wifi Good breakfast Friendly staff Great value
Cleanliness could be better
- staff - breakfast - location - price
Room was made up on a daily basis Breakfast was hearty and freshly made
The heating was turned on when it wasn't really needed and there was no temperature control in the room
