Elsinore HotelSt George Cresent Main Promenade, LL30 2LF Llandudno (Show map) Review score 6 Score from 317 reviews“Price and location were amazing, I only used the hotel as a place to sleep. The rest of the time I was around the town, fields and hills. Complimentary breakfast was delicious, staff were very accommodating. Building is currently being upgraded, so I was happy to see what was old, what is new, and what I can expect the next time I book to go there.”

I didn't like anything about this 'doss house'. It should be closed down for health & safety reasons. The electrics were a fire hazard. The windows were falling out. The fire exit door on the 2nd floor couldn't be opened as there was an old headboard on the platform outside the door, making it difficult to open. The bathroom, which was only a toilet, washbasin & shower, no bath, smelled very strongly of urine. The radiator didn't work. The whole hotel didn't look anything like it was portrayed on the brochure & internet. Very, very disappointed.

To be very honest - the Elsinore hotel itself it was bit dated but the people who owned and ran the place were very pleasant --and provided a very good service- My single room was a basic but was livable , just needed some basic decoration and a carpet change-- plus an ensuite update as well --the freeview televison was pretty basic-- and -only got a few channels that was,nt plagued with interference which tried ones patience- to the limit -thats if your like me into your television of an evening -the best experience for me was the Elsinore breakfast and waiter service was second to none -as one sat down at ones table they speedily provided a glass of pure orange juice -then a good choice of basic cereals -and very big english breakfast- with a choice of white or brown toast on offer- plus a pot of fine tea- Now as I really enjoy a good english breakfast you will gather it compensated me personally for the need of an overall update - but if you were a very fussy person especially a fussy lady- and trust me I know most women to be very fussy about their hotel accommodation then it may not be for you - I would say the Elsinore would suit mainly real down to earth tourists-/ holiday makers--- of course I can only speak for a basic single room experience--G lennon manchester

Not a lot to be honest On arriving at the hotel I have to say it looks the most run down Hotel on the promenade. When I got into my room my initial concerns were confirmed. The T.v didn't work room very small toilet extremely noisey. On the whole poor standard even at the price paid.

It was close to the beach and pier The hotel looked nothing like the pictures the rooms on the website are what they used to look like because the rooms where basic and horrible. the price of £40 a night I was unhappy the room had marks and holes on the walls the shower was to small and would flicker between boiling hot and freezing cold, the tv didn't work at first it a while of tuning un to get the freebies working and when I did eventually get it working had to keep it in one Chanel. The breakfast was basic and cold. I think £40 a night is to high of a price for this hotel I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

Convenience for the beach and town centre Hadn't realised that the hotel was being repainted, and it was a bit disappointing to take the family there while this was going on. Carpets in the rooms, and the showers could dp with a deep clean. Tv in one of our rooms had very bad reception - set-top aerial wasn't too good.

Nothing. Very poor indeed. IDirty room. Noisy. Dirty building work. Room was not furnished to standard. Poor breakfast. Unfriendly staff and workmen crawling the hotel from 7am. Dripping taps. Dirty bathroom. Broken tv. This room was meant to be sea view. However there was scaffold outside with netting and no sea view. We were given a filthy alternative. I will be seeking a refund and will never stay there again. Steve from Wirral.

The room was very comfortable but could have been a bit better as regards fitments and the door was very poorly fitted so that a gentle shove could have opened it even when locked. The breakfast was great and served by very attentive staff. Fantastic value for money. I would add that the owners seem to realise that the building is very tired and are obviously having extensive work done to improve the overall standard of this potentially superb hotel. Door security and room fitments very low grade decor could do with a major overhaul a larger lift would be appreciated.

My first impression of this hotel was good, as soon as i arrived i was shown where i could charge my mobility scooter. a garage at the back then i was shown upstairs to be welcomed by the manager who was polite and well mannered calling me madam which made me feel special and then i went up in a small lift and two young staff members took my luggage to my room which was clean and tidy and had a ensuite toilet shower room and a beautiful sea veiw, the beakfast was nice, the service excellent. my friend's room was at the back it was also clean and well presented. we were both happy and enjoyed our stay there.

Its ideal location Room was very dirty couldnt use wardrobe and drawers due to having sticky patches . was very lucky to be given a room with a sea view but was unable to enjoy the views due to the windows being so dirty . whilst having a shower I dont know what was worse the black mould around the base of the shower or the water that would be red hot one second and cold the next . very dangerous for children . when we arrived we were given a key for our room and one for the front door , but after we came back after going out for the night we found we had been locked out . we rang the door bell and tried to contact the owners but had no response . after sitting on the bench outside for 90 minutes another resident came down and let us in . I wouldnt recommend this hotel to anyone and just cant understand how inspectors have awarded it two stars.

the hotel is in a very good position, right on the seafront, handy for everything, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and happily provided whatever guests required also during the excellent breakfasts. some parts of the hotel are in need of some work, I believe this is in hand , this will then make this an excellent place to stay and with reasonable prices, many return guests, I for one

The thing I liked best about the Elsinore hotel was leaving. Pretty much everything sucked about this place including the attempted break in during the night. I know it's cheap to stay there but we'd still expect a functioning room. We were a bit worried about sampling the breakfast so we rearranged our plans and left early.

Nothing this hotel should be closed down and envirometal health will be informed today This hotel is damp filthy, health hazard, The shower leaked all night it was dirty inside. The hotel smells and the electrics are that dated it is unbelieveable. i had to sleep in my hoody with th hood up and with my tracksuit bottoms and trainers due to the dirtiness of th bd linen. i think the tramp in th shop door way around the corner had a better and cleaner nights sleep.

Seafront location. made fawlty towers look like the ritz ! en suite had broken toilet seat, broken shower screen, no towels and no soap. Room was cold, TV had no picture, bed had no 'extra' blanket despite the cold. Breakfast service was chaotic although the food was fine when it eventually arrived. The hotel staff were pleasant but inefficient.

Perfect location on the sea front and a lovely breakfast. The hotel was under refurbishment (scaffolding etc..) and our greeting was fairly cold from the reception staff.

“The locatiion of this hotel is superb as it is on the beach front with only a short walk around the corner to the towns high street. Decour and fittings are all in good modern taste with a friendly welcoming atmosphere. The staff are all polite, well presented and helpful. In particular, i found the young lady receptionist a credit to the establishment. My room was clean and very comfortable. The breakfast in the morning had the usual choice of full english, toast and cereals.” Richard, Biggleswade |
