The staff could not have been more helpful, especially Andrea The breakfast was good value too
For what was paid, you got what was expected.....a very tired hotel that needs TLC.......could be a cracker if in the right hands
Location, price, food
Bar was never open.
Pleasant staff, Breakfast
A very small room with Poor Quality fixtures and fittings, very noisy, Lift not working
location price breakfast view from room
Location and breakfast
Décor and fittings very tired. No bedside light Bed uncomfortable
For the price of 35.00 including breakfast, I was satisfied with the elsinore. These people who write the bad reviews need to pay more for their expectations. The breakfast was lovely all hot and freshly cooked with perfect poached egg.
fair enough the whole hotel could do with a revamp but for a cheap night away it did the job. I wouldnt spend any longer or bring the kids, but I would pay more if i was doing that which is what a lot of the people who expect more should do.
Lovely quality, clean bedding and clean towels daily were a very pleasant aspect to my stay and although limited choice of bread and cereals the breakfast was well cooked and tasty. Staff were friendly.
Standard of cleanliness and facilities was quite poor but as very inexpensive I'd not expected much else.
The rooms stank off smoke Men screaming and shout through the night found out it was staff No one on call through the night to complain so no sleep and felt Un safe would not recommend the place for a dog to stay nightmare
Cheap Clean rooms Location Staff nice and friendly!
For 30 quid I can't complain about anything!
The location is great
Arrived to check in at 3pm, we were promised a sea view room but we were put at the back if the hotel in the pokiest room ever! Vies was of a flat roof and scaffolding!! Shower had live wires on show and I had to hold it as it was stuck in an upright position, water just sprayed all over the bathroom if you didn't!! Room more like a cell!! This hotel could be so much better if they spent some money on it as the location is amazing! Breakfast was ok and staff were helpfull enough but breakfast is so early!! 8.30 - 9.30 who wants to get up that early? They could at least stretch it until 10am. In short, even though I know you get what you pay for, I will never stay again!!
carpets were dirty, stained and old. Rooms small and furniture would be better thrown in a skip. Bathroom basic and shower leaked into room below and had tenant in room below banging on door asking me not to use the shower!!! The whole place was like a cheap hostel or student squat. Will definitely not stay here again. Really wished i had read reviews before i booked,at least it taught me a valuable lesson!
superb location right on the prom. close to the pier and the orme. breakfast was quite good, the staff were helpful when approached.
the rooms are quite tired with cheap furniture.
Very very poor the room that we where in 101 was a disgrace the room was dirty the bed uncomfortable there was holes in the door we had to have the tele changed it was somethink out of the ark (pre war) Using speaker wire for a extension from one socket to another can cause a fire i am a electrician so I know what im talking about wont being visiting yhe hotel again
the minute I got out of there
Bed, poorly heated room, hole on the bathroom wall where the extractor should be, all the electrics were switched off and I had to work out where to turn them on including the shower. shower cubicle broken, carpets are old, badly fitted and dirty. It was disgusting to say the least. This place should not be recommended by Booking at any price. The mattress was old and uncomfortable. The wall paper is peeling off the walls. It's impossible to justify the existence of such a place in modern Britain.
Good value accommodation in great lolocation
hotel location, the breakfast. although staff were a bit hard to understand they were curteous& efficient.
lift out of order, room not hoovered too well.no chair to sit on, no bedside cabinet,no curtain at bathroom window, ill fitting door, noisy guests at 1, 2,&3 oclock a.m. parking was a problem for me.
Hotel was spotless, warm and our 'host' was a real character, even entertaining us with magic tricks. Excellent and generous breakfast with a reasonably priced bar. Good location, helpful to the extreme and our group will certainly be back!
I liked nothing about this run down place and although I piad for four nights, I only stayed the first one and would rather lose the money than stay here.
Lack of parking Narrow stairs to a high floor when I told them I had a bad knee. Lumpy thin mattress, noisy, smelly, the room was not a good standard at all. It felt more like a doss house than a hotel. Sleep quality was bad. The receptionist was not at all helpful and I found it difficult to understand her as she was not a local girl.
Location & we had a sea view room. Nice breakfast. Friendly staff.
Shabby decor. Furniture dented & poor quality. Television was old style with poor sound quality. Threadbare carpets with dusty railings. A work in progress.
The waiter at breakfast. Excellent. Food was good.
Clean but did feel downtrodden. Bed was very uncomfortable in room 115. No wifi upstairs.
Position. Staff. Breakfast.Warm room.
The hotel is old and needs up dating.
The bar was not open at night
Small rooms; ageing furnishings; long narrow corridors
near the bus and train station very good shoping and cafes and restaurants and bars and the weather was dry sunny warm for time of year in october 2014
Bed uncomfortable. Small room.
