The pub downstairs was very nice! Also the location of the hotel was good: few blocks from the train station and next to a huge Tesco. The room could use some refurbishment, but then again, I wasn't expecting anything more for this rate.

The friendliest of staff was good and the location ideal for all local amenities the rooms are very basic and to call them ensuite a bit over the top but if your looking for some where to get your head down for a night it serves the purpose The room was described as ensuite but the shower was pretty much unusable

I stay at Elstree about once a week for college, the staff are always friendly and polite. It has a little communal kitchen that you can prepare food but there are also lots of places to eat near by this hotel is good value for money.

The room was very clean and good value for money. In the ad they said they had ample parking though this was not true on the friday night there was nowhere to park my car. The room was cramped and tiny. The shower had no hot water. The hotel is advertised as having wifi connection and sky tv, my room had neither. I just had an old and poorly working tv, which had a remote control which didn't work at all

The location with good transport, both mainline train and bus access to London. A decent choice in the local high street and shopping center. The room facing the main road was noisy from both the road traffic and the pub premises underneath. The room and facilities left much to be desired, unflushed toilet from previous guest, shower head not working, with thick mould around the tray.

Surprisingly large room for the price, very comfortable. The guy on reception was always cheerful, friendly and helpful. Better directions would be helpful - the entrance is not actually on the street corresponding to the hotel's address, which was a little confusing.

What I liked most about Elstree Inn, was how accommodating, polite and friendly the staff were! The room was small but very clean and comfortable, and great value for money. I would definitely stay there again! The only thing I didn't like was the stairs as they were quite steep, but they did offer to help me with my luggage.

You get what you at for so not tooany complaints! but not much good about it. For a business trip it's ok, on the high at so loads of places to eat and right near my clients so a good location in an area that suffers with a lot of traffic so very handy! I called to check my reservation and was tol if I wasn't there by 9pm they'd lock up and go home!! I wasn't told that when booking and it doesn't say anything on the website. I had to leave my family BBQ to get there in time! The shower was fixed to the holder and the shower hose by duck tape. The hotel is right above a wetherspoons so it's noisy. Towels so old they're hard and they're thread bare with holes... For a pleasure or shopping trip avoid, but for business it does the job and it's cheap so for that reason I would recommend. First time I stayed the receptionist (different girl) was lovely and the room reasonable and tidy.

It was within Great-London so my day travelcard was valid, so visiting London was cheap. The location is good, close to the railway station. The receptionist, Vicky was very helpful and nice. I didn't like the room very much,it was so small with twin beds we couldn't walk around(we had 2 big trolleys), the bathroom is ridiculously small, actually it is a cabin, not a "room", no way to dry yourself after the shower inside, as you continuously banged your elbow against the wall, had to come out and towel myself in the room. I think the size is about 90 cm x 2 m, could hardly sit on the toilet because of the sink....very uncomfortable. There is no sound-isolation on the window so what happened in the street was as if people were in our room-pretty noisy in the morning. I didn't like the attitude of the general manager who charged my card with the whole booking fee one day before my arrival though I booked with free cancellation option and didn't bother to show up and give explanations for 3 days.Eastern-European tourist couldn't afford to have another 200 GBP in case they want to leave,go in another hotel and pay at check in while waiting for the refund to arrive (it usually takes 2 days).Even after showing up she was educating me saying it was absolutely normal and fair and it was me who didn't know how things work. She couldn't give satisfying explanation why she charged all 5 nights instead of only 1 night and did not wait for me to pay at check-in, so we left on Saturday, checked in another hotel and I stayed an extra night there as I anyway would have needed another night. So, be prepared that this hotel manager may charge the whole booking fee before you arrive although in the booking confirmation you'd be told "No deposit will be charged" and then you have to wait 2 days for the refund if there is any problem - which can be pretty embarrassing.

Location & price Shower was not very good - shower hose tied up with ties. Shower door didn't close very well, but generally I would recommend this as an adequate, low budget place to stay.

Convenient and friendly. Check-in times were limited and difficult due to my schedule. Bathroom in my single room was too small to stand up in!
