This was a surprise trip organised by my partner to celebrate my birthday; it was made known to the hotel at the time of the booking, a bouquet and balloon were arranged too. On my birthday, my partner and I, booked the table by the fire (table no 1) from 8:30pm; a note of this had been made by one of the staff members in their booking log. When we arrived in the bar at around 8:15pm, ready for a celebratory dinner by the fire (after a rainy day spent on the mountains), one of the waiters was setting a couple of "local regulars" at our table; we were told by the person that we made the booking with that a different table was set for us in the same room! This did not go down well and when I went to the restaurant supervisor, Evie, to find out why our previously booked table had been given away, she claimed first that bookings could not be made for that room (although we had made one that was written down hours before), then that those people were regulars, then that she did not know about my birthday, and in a most despicable way, when I said that she made the wrong decision that spoiled my birthday and was ready to leave she started walking behind me arguing... It is an absolute shame that such beautiful venue in beautiful surroundings hires staff that have no ethics (since they repeatedly lie in one's face!) and spoil the guests special days; they should at least be trained in basic people skills or demoted to non people facing roles! An absolute disgrace!
Nice location overlooking the valley; the room was fantastic, beautifully decorated, with free standing bath
