Elvey Farm is a medieval farmstead in a magical setting, tucked away in 75 acres of Kentish countryside. Elvey Farm was built in 1406, and not much has changed since. It is positioned at the end of a long, winding lane, with breathtaking views over the fields and hills in all directions. The perfect rural retreat, you can stay in stylish suites in the 16th century stable block and dine in the beautiful restaurant specializing in Kentish dishes. Most rooms have their own private entrances. Watch the sun set over the fields from the terrace before retiring to your own private living room, or enjoy a soak in the bath. Calm, relaxed atmosphere, lovely staff and an interesting building. Liked the sense of history and continuity. Fantastic evening meal and nice breakfast. Liked the information about sources of the food. Would go back for a short break. Needed a well-lit mirror - lighting was a bit low. Would have liked a seat in the bedroom rather than sitting on the bed: minor issues only which did not spoil the overall enjoyment :-)

Location, peace and quiet, historical with a modern touch, great food, great staff great accommodation, friendly ghost Slightly over priced menu limited choices may put some guests off if on a budget or prefer simple dining.

The superb food and wine, the informal atmosphere, the attention to detail in our bedroom, the gorgeous landscaping. The grotty bit at the base of the shower

The rooms were beautiful and the Farm had a great cozy feel to it. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The TV had a lot of interference and did not work very well.

Really pretty place, very peaceful and pretty location. When we stayed, it was an older crowd ('50s +) in residence, but that said that wasn't really a negative.

Lovely Kentish farmhouse and oast with roses round the door. Good food, comfy bed, slept like a baby. Quite isolated, provided you have transport there are plenty of interesting places to visit and some good walks. Lack of outside lighting on footpaths. Our room in the oast was separate from the main house/restaurant. The garden path to the restaurant was very uneven and the solar lighting poor. On returning to our room about 10.00pm the garden path was in complete darkness the solar lights had gone out. We found it quite trecherous making our way to the door of the oast.

Gorgeous and tastefull blend of modern and original 16 century farm-house. The rooms were simply lovely - very tastefully decorated, clean and spaceous - a delightful surprise. The staff were also very friendly and helpful and food was lovely. We would thoroughy recommend a stay there for anyone looking for a countryside get-away of a high standard. Absolutely value for money! We were surprised to have no stand up shower in the modern and beautifully decorated bathroom. The only shower was in the bath, with no way of hanging it on the wall for a shower. Not good for a hotel of this high standard in all other aspects.

Must be careful what I say as we had a free upgrade - What a room. Constructed from reclaimed timbers and built on the side of a stone wall, it was beautiful. Bathroom was a large as some bedrooms with a free standing bath which took three days to fill. Food and other facilities were of a similar standard. The owners two dogs roamed the place, not what I would expect from such a good establishment.

Secluded spot in the middle of the Kent countryside. Many walks nearby. A lovely front garden and beautiful bedrooms. Management had lost our booking. The suite we were finally given was above the bar and kitchens, and so loud that we couldn't sleep. Loud guest laughter and chattering and the very loud clink of glasses and plates being washed in the kitchen meant we finally stuck cotton wool in our ears to try and sleep. The front garden is very pretty, but the remaining grounds are terribly dilapidated - overgrown with weeds, and rubbish strewn about. There is even an upended bath outside reception with a red bull can floating in it. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated, but the bathrooms are surprisingly low spec - bubbling linoleum, peeling ceiling and only enough hot water for one person to shower. My other half waited for over an hour for the water to re-heat.

Excellent accommodation with very friendly staff and owners. I cannot remember the last time I ate so well, both the breakfast and evening dining was perfect. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. The local food suppliers does the hotel proud and we brought back lots of food and drink to try ourselves at home after visiting the local farm shop in pluckley that supplies the hotel. Nothing lets this hotel down. Give it a chance, you won't be disappointed.

Looking for accomodation that is pet friendly can sometimes be a problem. Wishing to break our onward journey to France in a location nearer to Dover we chose Elvey Farm because it satisfied the above mentioned criteria. The accommodation, the food and the surroundings and the friendlinesss of the staff were an added bonus and exceeded all expectations. I would have no hesitation in both recommending it and returning on our next journey. There was nothing I would wish to criticise or could.

Ideal for a relaxing break. Comfortable rooms, wonderful food, great hospitality. Unpretentious but stylish. Countryside all around but within reach of many places of interest. Probably better for adults, although children are welcomed so are dogs!

The food was excellent as was the restaurant itself. The staff were excellent. The shower facilities were in need of attention, the shower tray was not sealed properly therefore giving a damp odour.
