The hotel for me was within walking distance of the city centre. I booked the hotel for the location and and the price. When you book a hotel at that price and in that location, there is always a question about the hotel. However, while the room was small, it was clean and the shower excellent. Given the fact that I was not in the room for any length of time, only the cleanliness was important, so I was pleased with what I found. The breakfast was basic, however in keeping with what was advertised and had what I would normally have in a morning. The staff were attentive and pleasant. I would definitely stay there again. As I said, not much time spent in the hotel. My needs were met, nothing to say really in this section

The location was great - Oxford street is 10 mins walk, just near Hyde park and Kensington gardens The single room is really small, 4 sq.M. Literally. And it's better to have your reservation with you to confirm the price

Since the hotel is very close to the lancaster gate metro station it was easy to reach the center of the city. Ladys that serve tea/coffee for breakfast were very friendly. There was sweage smell in the room coming from the bathroom. It was annoying and disgusting. While I was drying my hair the hair dryer suddenly stopped, when I asked help from the reception, the guy who answered the phone talked really rude to me. I asked for a replacement for the hair dryer and he said the dryer was old so there's nothing to do but wait, they didn't have anything to replace with that old machine. His attitudes were really rude and although his duty is to help the customer he just left.

Our room was incredibly small, more suitable for a single person. And the breakfast was continental or eggs,no Bacon or sausages which my husband wasn't very pleased with.

Close to the city, public transport I booked two single rooms and the size of the room was like two beds, very small. Bathroom as well. Comparable to hostel room in Honk-Kong :). Breakfast very simply for 7,50gbp.

The location is very good. Near the Lancaster Station (Underground), one block of Hyde Park, and near of some restaurants. As two good italian restaurantes in the other side of the street, with razonable prices. The room size is very small. Dificult to live more than one person.

Location W.C. pan didn't work properly. Kennel-sized rooms might be ok for 30 pounds, but not for 79 (without breakfast). By the way, when I connected to hotel's wifi hotspot, their web site said prices start from 50 pound. Are there rooms worse than mine was? Or do they surcharge booking.com?

I liked the location as it was close to tube station. Also the breakfast was ample and having an elevator and good fire precautions pleased me. Staff were helpful. The room we had was oppsite a pub which made a lot of noise. Next time we stay there we'll make sure we have a room at the back. Also bbc 1 wasn't working on our tele which was only terstrial and not digital.

Close to transport and quick stroll to park. The room was clean and tidy and the bed was very comfortable. Although the room wasn't spacious it was adequate for a short weekend trip. The only problem with the room was the shower, I couldn't get a decent flow of water even when turning it on full blast.

Location, price. Small rooms - hard to fit suitcases in there, no real blanket, dirty carpet and somewhat unhelpful staff.

Bed comfy. Good location. My room was cold. I was told at reception that the central heating isn't switched on until 20:00h. In the morning the shower was freezing. I was told at reception that I should have called them because it is a common problem in the hotel to do with the plumming and they can sometimes fix the problem. True enough, it seemed common enough that another guest was at reception complainIng about the same thing. Walls thin - definitely take ear plugs with you Corridoors dark - they have a system where the lights go off automatically. Trouble is that they don't go on automatically until you have already stumbled around in the dark for a while I expect to pay a premium in central London, and while I don't expect the Ritz for £107 per night, I can give you a long list of hotels in the vicinity that do significantly better than this one. It feels like a naff b & b that you should pay less than half of this for.

For the price i expected a little more. I had a compact single room for £70. I avoided other cheaper places because i wanted a better service/quality. It was not of the level i was expecting.

Location is excellent. The room was heated and there was hot water (sort of - it was hard to adjust the temperature). Room prices varied per night between about $110-150 usd per night. I'm not sure if it is possible to get a better deal in that location, and the location is worth it by a lot, but this hotel was passable at best. The price is very expensive for an extremely small, simple room. When people say "small" in the reviews, they mean it. It was tough to walk around the bed in our "double" room. In addition, all rooms are located right above a noisy city street, and rooms on the first floor are practically on the street. Apparently there are rooms in the basement also, so beware. Our tea pot was located on a shelf on the wall that we had to bend around to not smack into to get into bed. The radiator was so close to the bed that I burned myself twice. The staff were rude and unaccommodating. They charged my credit card before I got to the hotel without notice or a receipt. When I asked if they could make a refund and charge to to my boyfriend's card (which had been our plan) they refused rudely, and suggested we "go to a cash machine and work it out among yourselves". When I asked to speak with a manager, they also refused that. We asked several times not to be disturbed before 11am, but each day they called our room over something - some paperwork they forgot to have us sign, and one day even to ask us if we wanted towels!! Overall it is a lowsy, overpriced place, with creepy staff that are desperate for your money and treat you like dirt once they have your credit card information.

Convenient location, easy to find and close to the city. Nice having staff on hand at all times. Whilst I was aware that I had booked a small single room, I was a bit surprised at how small it was (very tricky with a case!)

The room was small and intollerably overheated but the bathroom was impeccable. The price is good for this part of London, which is, in fact, a very pleasant area away from tat of Praed Street. I would stay again on price and cleanliness as all In want to do is lay my head down.

I'm impressed by the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of this hotel, particularly of the rooms. My only gripes worth mentioning are that the rooms vary in size but the prices do not reflect this, we were served red wine in the bar which had obviously been left open and so tasted rank. And twice during our two night stay someone barged into our room unannounced. We couldn't actually see who they were but they didn't sound (by their exclamation upon seeing the room occupied) like they were the cleaners. Are all the hotel card keys able to open more than one door?
