It was simple. I just needed a place to sleep and freshen up and the East Midland Guesthouse allowed me to do that without charging an extortionate rate. You get the basic things you need, a bed, washroom, toilet and Kitchen. If you need to waste an hour there's a tv with satellite on it. The bed was comfortable and the location was quiet which allowed me to get a decent nights sleep. My interaction with the manager was brief, but he was polite and friendly and if I needed anything (which I didn't) I felt I'd be able to approach him. Its not going to satisfy someone looking for a luxury room but it fulfilled my needs perfectly.

Cheap, locality, use of small kitchen with provisions of tea and coffee, friendliness of foreign gentleman on arrival, he was helpful and did his job well. I chose this accommodation for the price however it was extremely basic, although clean and neat....I was given a twin room instead of a single as the single rooms had all gone. I appreciated this extra space. The gentleman also offered me a towel which was very small but I hadn't realised it didn't provide towels. Grateful to have one. I was very cold, I had to wear a tracksuit and socks in my bed with my pyjamas to keep remotely warm. I couldn't turn the radiator up and it didn't seem warm to start with. It was very cold getting between the room and shower room in which I had to go downstairs near the main front door as the one near my room was out of order. I didn't like the small space in the shower room, very difficult to keep things dry although there was a hanging fixture over the door, it was very cramped and then going back to a freezing room along the cold corridors. Although cheap, I have stayed at much more pleasant accommodation for the same price in the same city.

The location for my business trip was ideal and it was close to the city centre for evening meals. There were some eastern europeans staying at the same time & I had to get out of bed at 03.00 am to tell them to be quiet as they were drinking & making a noise by the front door.

The location of the hotel coming from nottingham was not too bad but the hotel itself was horrifying. The room was smelly of cigarette, dirty, the beddings were not clean, we had cause to buy beddings and clean towels from the shopping centre. We could not use a cup/glass as the entire environment was not habitable. The shower room was horrendous. We had to clean the shower room/toilet before using it each time. To crown it all I never felt safe.I would not recommend it to anyone to go to but to advise that the entire guesthouse be refurbished before letting out to people. I am inclined to getting the environment department from the council to come and inspect the guest house. We did not like anything about the guesthouse except the fact that it was easier for us to get to after dropping our daughter at University. please see above for your information.

I liked it, but it is not my hotel to stay. It is good price to stay in it. too noise from the road and guesses as well, but 1 night is ok. £30 per night is good , but more money after you.

The hotel was cheap and the staff was nice. There was an LCD tv in our room which was good. Rooms were worn and outdated. Bedding smelled moldy. Showers and toilets are shared and dirty. the walls are thin so you can hear your neighbors clearly. Location is far from city centre. No shops or decent restaurants near to guesthouse.

Everything you need if you're on a budget. There's a couple of toilets and shower rooms and a kitchen to cook food. No stove/hob though so you're limited to the microwave. This is like living in student accommodation / shared house so don't expect luxury. The pictures on the website must have been upstairs, they look much newer than the room I had and saw downstairs. Room 4 is next to the kitchen so be prepared to get woken up by the other visitors making breakfast or late night meals / talking loudly. Room 1 is right next to the single toilet. Ask for an extra towel too as there was a hand towel when I arrived.

Friendly staff. Free Wi-Fi. 'Bath' towels were actually hand towels and not big enough. Bed was uncomfortable and squeaky. Upstairs shower was out of order. Heating was never on. Room wasn't on suite. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room which would've been more convenient than using the downstairs kitchen.

it is a very basic accommodation , sharing kitchen, showers etc. This of course is reflected in the price. Basically a room with a bed, no frills. Not a lot around the area if you want to venture out for something to eat or drink

The price was reasonable. This was probably the worst place I have stayed in the uk. The room was so cold that I only got 1 hour sleep all night. The radiator was only ever luke warm. I would guess that it was about 14-15 degrees in there. My friend who booked a single room said the same and they also had a terrible night's sleep. The showers were also pretty gross. Mould on the walls and a wierd smell. There was no toilet paper in either of the tiolets and no hand towels or hand dryers. It was cheap but I wish I had spent an extra £8 and gone somewhere else.

C'était bien, tranquille, prêt du centre ville, et prêt de la station du train. L'absence des restaurants dans l'entourage, il faut marcher quelques 300m.

It was a cheap place to stay, and the location was very peaceful. If your looking for no frills then its OK for the night. It was very noisy at night, there were some young lads shouting and screaming at 4am in the morning, when all I wanted to do was go to sleep, they should consider other people who stay there when people come to stay...
