Holiday Inn Express East Midlands Airport  

We didn't get the room we had booked - alternative was ok but was presented on a take it or leave it basis - no apology. Lack of a courtesy bus to and from the airport. Lack of/ misleading information about public transport. Indifferent food.

Liked the breakfast choice liked that it had a bar with Sky Sports

Facilities and staff exceeded our expectations. Good value for money, a fair price and better all round value than the rival so called 'budget' operations we have stayed with in the past. If there is a choice to stay in an area I/we might be working from in the future... based on this experience, I would look no further than Holiday Inn Express. I realise we were only the one night at EMA but please pass on our thanks for a comfortable stay. PS Pizzas looked good, wished we hadn't eaten before we arrived!

Good value for money, new hotel, good breakfast for this type of hotel.

Wasnt asked my preference of smoking or non-smoking but I was placed in a smoking room.

One of the better Holiday Inn Expresses I've stayed in. The staff were helpful and the hotel was clean and accomodating. Location was convenient. Breakfast was good.

Bed was too hard and the sofa bed had springs poking out of it. Had to ask for extra blankets to lay over the sofa bed as it was actually poking into my collagues back. Had to ask for more towels even though we had booked a room for 3 adults. But whatever you requested was always sorted out with no problem.

Everything was good except, we booked a smoking room and were initially assigned a none smoking room, it was immediately sorted. The key card didn't work then we had no ashtray, needed help with the tv and we found the room cold. The air con unit was noisy and didn't give any heat.On a brief visit to visit a sick relative, hand luggage only we expected some toiletries but had to ask for them.All these didn't put us off considering using the hotel chain again Our biggest annoyance was the cost of a 5 minute taxi transfer costing £6, we felt that was over the top and that perhaps some information about this would be helpful when booking. We were pleasantly surprise about the breakfast, it was more than we expected and very welcome. We also appreciated that the bar was open as we didn't arrive until about 12 45am.

Friendly and efficient staff late in the evening

Economical, clean, friendly and comfortable. It suited our purpose of overnight transit for the airport ideally. A stress free stay for the short time we were there. Lovely breakfast and a unhurried approach by the staff. Made to feel very wellcome even though we arrived in the middle of the night. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. I would certainly use this hotel again.

The carpets in the corridors were a little shabby. Otherwise it was fine.

No trouser press and need free wifi in rooms.

We stayed at the hotel because it made our journey to the airport easier, we were both very happy and impressed with the facilities offered and would definently stay at this hotel again. Thankyou for a very pleasent experience.

It's very centralised for long haul trips around motorway network. It's remarkably quiet bearing in mind so close to ema airport. So a good nights sleep was still possible.

Like most hotels, doors are heavy and always clash shut! The WI-Fi is only free if in lounge area not in room. Pointless distinction in my opinion. If Starbucks etc can provide free why can't hotels?

Breakfast poor , by 9 am most of the food was gone
