Wine was very good
Wine was very expensive
Excellent room with luxury extras such as toiletries and tea coffee etc. Beautiful hotel and location with a great bar and restaurant.
Beautiful view over river on a cold frosty sunny morning
Location - great position, wonderful view of the river, convenient for town centre and on-site parking. Lovely ambience and nice décor - public and private rooms. Food very good
Service - slow and unresponsive. Not good enough for business people in a rush.
Location right on the river making a pleasant walk to other amenities. Beautiful room - overlooking the river and tastefully decorated with all usual facilities
Absolutely beautiful hotel. Staff were amazing and looked after us! The breakfast was included and tasted amazing! Can't wait to go back! My only slight criticism was that the room got a bit stuffy and there was no air con. Otherwise it was all perfect! Thank you! :)
Location Food the evening meal when it came. Most of the room, comfortable beds, good shower. Enjoyed the breakfast.
We had to wait 2hours plus for our main course. The bedroom was in dire need of a splosh of paint room 208.The window surrounds were very dirty ground in muck, need painting, the curtains (nets) need a wash. Overall needs a refurb.
Staff excellent Food excellent Room good
Problem with shower
The curtains do not cover the windows therefore allowing street lighting into the bedroom
small car park
It was clean
My room was by an extractor fan which was noisy. I could hear the extractor from the en-suite next door and that guest was noisy until 2am. Only got 4 hours sleep.
Good food. Breakfast eggs benedict was good and also good coffee. We ordered the Roasted Cod for dinner and it was sensational. The restaurant staff was courteous. We liked the long and large bathroom. I liked the cookies to go with the in room coffee/tea/cocoa selections. The fan in the room was a good idea, too. It was an impeccably clean shower stall and the second room I found to be clean and fresh upon arrival.
I noticed the hotel is short on staff to clean rooms. Only 2 people were available to clean the entire hotel. The original hotel room we originally were assigned to was not clean by 2 p.m. due to overwork of staff. The rooms are very small as is the t.v. I accompanied my husband on business travel and really missed the fact there is no central area, tea room or lobby sitting area to comfortably sit and read a book w/o being in the bar or restaurant.
Everyone there was most helpful, pleasant and friendly. Love the atmosphere and constant flow of people. This was our second stay and will not hesitate to stay again. The live entertainment was enjoyable, cannot think of one negative thing to say. Perhaps one....that installing a lift would be most helpful. In saying that, the stair exercise is always good when one is in our 70's. Thank you all for lovely memories.
Size of room, excellent food and attentive staff.
Curtains would not close in room but this is a very minor issue.
All good will stay again
Staff and attitude of all members we meet, location
Door lock insecure all night Headboard light falling off wall. Felt insecure all night, told odd job man Eric??? not avaliable till morning, reported it to morning reception staff who came and looked and said he would attent to it right away, only you know that result
The staff are always so friendly and accommodating. For example, I was going to depart early in the morning whilst my wife stayed behind to have breakfast with our daughter who is resident at Bedfordshire University. I was able to settle all the expenses the night before and there was no hassle at breakfast the next morning. It might sound trivial, but it makes a difference to know it's a trouble free environment.
Not much at all. The restaurant is great and our room was comfortable. I just hope they make enough profit to give the place a bit of a facelift sometime. But still, it's a good place to stay.
Friendly and helpful receptionist at check in, good food and a nice location.
Slow service in the restaurant even though it was not busy. The room and the bathroom were nice, but rather chilly. One curtain did not fully close and there was a lot of road noise at night.
Attentive staff, lovely room, wonderful menu, nice view.
room and bed was ok breakfast was nice wifi was good parking behind hotel was free
noisy windows and doors( banging at night) service by breakfast staff was quick but impersonal.
Nice hotel in lovely location
Breakfast was quality
I had a large comfortable room with a good sized bathroom. I slept very well and had a really nice breakfast in the morning. The location is just across the road from the river and watching the rowers and the water rolling by whilst I ate breakfast was lovely. i would highly recommend this hotel.
Waiting ages for the very small, very slow toaster to become available at breakfast!!!
location near the city and riverside.
saturdaynight was rather noisy until two o'clock in the morning.
