A real gem. Fantasic food and service. Luxury rooms with river view a real treat. Normaly stay at national chains but this was a real step above. Would recommend highly and will stay again. Great spot on the river too

The very high ceilings in my room initially made the room look small but after a short while I realised it was more than adequate. Plenty of hot water and a superb shower. Staff were friendly, welcoming and flexible in terms of my requirements.

Nice biscuits in the room. The Embankment Hotel has a great bar that we visit often and was the reason we chose to stay in the hotel but the hotel was poor. The room was adequate. The bathroom was adequate and a little strange. The lock on the bathroom door was the same that you would find on a pub toilet. The bathroom was tiny and had a roasting hot heated towel rail that myself and my husband nearly burned our skin on. The fire alarm went off at 5am and after rushing downstairs we were told was an accident and there was no fire. When we checked out we were not offered an apology without us mentioning it. The breakfast was disappointing. The bread was cheap bread that you would get from a corner shop. Such as easy thing for them to get right. All in all, for the premium prices these rooms are charged at, I would not recommend them and we would not stay again. In fact, the second night we stayed in a premium room at the Swan Hotel which is a short walk away. We had a lovely time staying there and I would recommend The Swan to anyone.

Huge room and bathroom, very well appointed. Delicious breakfast. Busy pub (as it said in the blurb for it, some noise heard in room. Pack ear plugs!)

From the moment we walked throughout the door we were smiled at by two staff and helped straight away. Our room was at the top of the hotel so we weren't disturbed by any noise from the bar downstairs. The bed was huge and really comfortable, the bathroom small but had everything we needed. The breakfasts we had were all excellent and the waiting staff were friendly and helpful. We were really glad we booked this hotel, it had bags of personality, we'd stay again in a heartbeat!

Son and I stayed and there was a problem with the booking as I had booked a twin bedded room and we were given double bedded one. When we informed them of this we were offered a put up bed in the room - which we did accpet, however, after 5 minutes of going back to room we were told that my son had been given a room on his own (no extra cost) as it was not our error and due to legislation - excellent result and really pleased with that.

Lovely hotel. Great location. Lovely walks on doorstep and yet lots of shops up the road too.Staff were brill and nothing was too much trouble for them. No real complaints except room had no view. When I return I will request room with a view of the river. Saw one of them and they were so much brighter and bigger too.

We loved our stay at this hotel, the rooms were nice and the staff super friendly. The food was great and a nice experience. Location was very good as had a lovely view of the river. The meals were a bit pricey but the service was great so you get what you pay for.

Local feel, authentic ambiance, beautiful vista, popular place to be Rooms were very warm and windows were unable to be opened. Also had a room on the first floor so you could hear a lot of noise from the bar

The room was large and airy, the bed really comfy and the shower room modern and clean (with heated towel rail). Excellent location with a terrace overlooking the river (across a road), The bar and terrace were really busy (but I suppose that shows how popular the bar is for eating and drinking with friends), so much so that I went into the town to eat. I was also surprised to find the dining room floor still being cleaned when I went down for breakfast (but luckily it was a member of staff who slipped on the wet floor and not me).

Very comfortable room, I had a river view room which was a nice outlook. Bathroom very nice indeed. Bar great - very comfortable, good range of beers, and well laid out. Free wifi is a civilised touch. Restaurant is very good with an interesting menu at reasonable prices (by today's standard). Staff very good - helpful and efficient. The room (102) was a bit hot and I was not sure how to control that (if at all). The television is too small and too high up on the wall for comfortable viewing. The circular table is a bit dubious! A bit of weight on the edge and the whole tabletop fell off! As this was the only workable table in the room that was a bit awkward.

We had a spacious room, comfortable beds and very good breakfasts. Parking is limited, but least there is some off road places. First come, first served is definitely true.
