everything was overall awesome. One of the best hostels I've stayed in in all of Europe!
The bathrooms didn't seem to be cleaned daily but maybe my roommates weren't so clean. There was also a bottle of guiness that was spilled in the lobby and it seemed like forever before they cleaned it up.
cool atmosphere, possibility of having some food whenever you want
mess, disorder one toilet for all girls, not enough space in the "breakfast kitchen"
I enjoyed my stay, didn't know what to expect but the staff was really helpful and friendly, and in the morning breakfast was good and the conversation with the staff and other guests was good making you not wanting to leave
Great lovely staff, free real breakfast, clean facilities, cosy place
Sometimes noisy in big dorms
tea and coffee facilities 24 hours no extra charge! Internet access 24 hours no extra charge. Clean and comfy bedroom facilities.
bedroom door didn't lock securely.
Loved the chilled out atmosphere and the supreme friendliness of the staff here. Everyone was so nice and there was never any problem giving advice on where to go or what to do. The hostel manager put on a BBQ during a big football game and then invited everyone to eat his hamburgers... super nice! The all-day coffee and breakfast is a total bonus and again part of charming laid back-ness here. Location is also fantastic... everything is super close, within walking distance of all the main sites. Also I hate the hostels with creaky Ikea bunk beds...if there are two people the whole thing shakes if anyone even takes a deep breath. While the bunks here are not shake-free, they are certainly pretty solid. Duvets, pillows, mattresses all comfortable. The availability of lockers was also a total bonus and the wireless worked perfectly and 24 hours. There were lots of nice touches in the bedrooms, like bedside tables...the kind of thing you don't get everywhere. Kitchen facilities, TV, outdoor area were also ace.
Basically, if you like your hostels super-sterile and overly organised and you don’t want to talk to fellow travellers too much, this may not be the place for you. It's a bit rough round the edges. And to be honest, there may actually not be enough bathrooms for everyone if the place was really full (it was not while we were there, so we didn't have that problem). But IMHO that is also part of the charm and character and the chilled out atmosphere. Everything runs fine and a little mess is more than compensated for by the interesting and friendly characters here and the characterful place. It's like when you see advertising for those big hostels and they go on about their bars and how everyone has lots of fun there...well, this is the genuine article.
Kev and the boys at the Embassie are brilliant-good craic!
Had a great stay, great staff, excellent value for money. Warm showers, clean beds and a friendly environment. Kitchen with oven, kettle, microwave, basically everything you could want. would definitely stay again. Thanks!
Lovely staff Friendly environment between guests Comfy and Clean Helped us with forgot towels etc. So lovely! :)
Breakfast, toasts, jam, juice free
There was a Polish woman who was working in the hostel and who was sleeping in the same room as guests, she turned on the light at 5am and made too much noise in the room when we were sleeping. The Polish worker should be more considerate with the guests.
The best thing about Embassie is a home-like atmosphere and great hospitality of the owners. You can feel relaxed and free there. The place itself is clean and comfy and it's situated in a quiet neighbourhood but at It's definitely worth recommending !
Mr. Kevin Seniour, the owner of the hostel is amazing!!!! Gives free tours about The Beatles on thursdays and he is simply so nice! Always telling stories It is a very "home" feeling to stay there
Everything was great! I felt like at home, it was cossy and quiet. There is a kitchen, where you can cook and bread, jams, coffee and tea are available any time of the day. The owner is very friendly :)
The owner of the hostel is a very friendly person, willing to assist and help in any question or query you might have. He really makes you feel you're home and you do have access to the kitchen 24/7. You really feel you're just chilling out at your own place. The location is very good; the hostel is located in a very quiet street yet you probably need 15-20 minute walk to the city center. The guests were also very friendly. While this might not always be the case, it seems this hostel attracts like-minded people and offers a friendly and comfortable atmosphere to spend 2-3 days in Liverpool.
The hostel is clean but can do slightly better. The bathrooms and showers were clean most of the time but it happened that I went there a couple of times and saw the garbage completely full. During the first night, there were some noisy guests, but that's again just a bad luck and doesn't mean it's going to be the case all the time.
1) Only 1 miserable wc for men in the basement(for the entire building), 2) Only 3 shared showers(only 2 were working at that time) 3) Location is a good 30 minutes walk from the city or Albert Dock and not directly accessible by bus (Bad for travellers with luggage) 4) Stayed over the weekend, loud noises from conversations of drunkards who were staying at the same hostel, in the hallway at 430-5 am, complained to hostel manager, manager insisted he could not do anything about it. 5) Bed was not prepared on time of check-in.
I rent a double room for a night and I regret about. Very poor facilities: room small (old bed, old wardrobe and TV, nothing else in the room). Small and dirty to share with whole building. Better looking for another place if you want a double room.
Friendly staff, easy to meet other travelers to chat with because there are a lot of common spaces, 2 kitchens to cook your own food if you want to, in a really cool old mansion. Good wifi and television in the double room and in the common areas.
Really geared towards young backpackers and students, I don't think others would be happy staying here. Double room was very small, only a bed and small cupboard. Not a great value for money since you are also sharing a bathroom. The double rooms at the University's visitors housing are the same price, twice the size and have private bathrooms. The old house is pretty cool but the rooms and hallways (rugs) need a deep clean. There were dust bunnies next to my bed
Wi-fi is good, location is kind of good as well.
Shared bathrooms separated only by curtains, very dark building, cleaness is not good, their breakfast is a shame (only breads and a lot of old jellies)
location is great the staff is very friendly and helpful the common area is quite nice easy to meet people
not particularly clean not the most modern facilities (shower etc) Don't expect to be able to sleep before 2 or 3 am on Saturday due to people coming back from clubs - nice if you are one them less enjoyable if you want to sleep early - ish
Kevin, the owner, welcomed me so warmly with a cup of tea. In his kitchen you feel home up from the first minute. He knows everything about the Beatles and walked with us through Liverpool sharing his great Beatles' knowledge with us. The atmosphere at his Embassie Backpackers, in a very beautiful old townhouse, is awesome and I met very interesting people there. I wish I could have stayed longer… Thank You Kevin!
The staff was quite nice, helpful and friendly. Great breakfast, with lots of options. Coffee and tea offered during all day long.
There are only two bathrooms and 4 showers, they are dirty ALL the time, from the time I got there until the last minute, they were even a little embarrassed about it when showing me the place, but it didn't make them clean it though. There was no toilet paper throughout the night. It's at least 25-30min walking until the center, in an area that has nothing going on.
Staying there was like being at home, a really warm welcome by the owner, n the place was perfect! Just that, I'm defo going again!
Friendly staff, great atmosphere, good location if you don't mind a fair walk to all the sights. Good place to mingle, guests and staff were friendly and welcoming. Good location for a short walk to some mellow pubs and good clubs in the evenings. Area felt safe to walk around in during the eveing.
Facilities clean and tidy, but a bit cramped for my taste.
The Hostel has such a special atmoshere! Kevin welcomes his guests so warmly with a cup of tea and in his kitchen you feel at home immediately! There is such a music & football spirit in the air! I met great people from everywhere and we all enjoyed very much the Beatles tour Kevin made with us! He really knows everything about them and Liverpool! Thank you!!!
