The staff is absolutely nice, free parking
location was ok
dirtiest, smelliest, coldest room ive ever stayed in,damp mould on ceiling and walls, filthy bed linen.booking .com you need to check this room out.
Bed was ok, shower was proper and warm, good facilities, great selection of snacks for breakfast available 24h. 20-35 min walking from the centre.
During my stay I enjoyed the company of 5 sweaty blokes returning to our room at 3 am and chatting and laughing until roughly 6. At 8 am they started the day with a great farting competition. Nothing to do with the hostel I suppose, it's probably me being unlucky.
Location was great Size of room was good Staff were really friendly
The room was freezing compared to the rest of the building Wifi kept coming and going
Leaving and getting out of there
Trying to find a bed The Dirt No male toilets or showers on our floor had to travel down to basement from 3rd floor Shower area tiny
Wasn't the first time I stayed at Embassie. Really like the place. Met loads of interesting people there. It has we are one big happy family atmosphere. Owner very friendly, lots of useful advise about getting cheap tours, what to do about football tickets. Great place.
The staff, and the fact that they let us sleep in 12 in a room for 10! They have overbooked the room, and two people had to sleep on the floor and the rest of us could not even walk in the room. And they didn't even try to make it up for it or being sorry. The only reason why we stayed there was because we didn't have another place to go so late at night!
If you are travelling for work like I did and need to find some time to work while at the hostel, Embassie Backpackwers might be a bit too loud for you day and night, but you can always find a quiet spot in the corner to sit and concentrate (somehow). In general though, it is a clean hostel, the staff are pleasant and the breakfast is a wonderful part of the deal. Definitely recommend it.
Location, friendly staff
Stairs stunk of stale cigarettes
-staff was very nice and friendly -it is close to the city centre, no need to take a bus - breakfast was excellent, delicious and plentiful -beds were comfortable
-only two showers -small lockers
I loved this hostel, you have coffee and toasts all day, they make you feel like home. The staff helps you a lot with everything. I did the thursday night Beatles walk and it was excellent! (we even ended up at The Cavern for free!). Thank you for everything!
I only stayed there one night.
everything was overall awesome. One of the best hostels I've stayed in in all of Europe!
The bathrooms didn't seem to be cleaned daily but maybe my roommates weren't so clean. There was also a bottle of guiness that was spilled in the lobby and it seemed like forever before they cleaned it up.
cool atmosphere, possibility of having some food whenever you want
mess, disorder one toilet for all girls, not enough space in the "breakfast kitchen"
I enjoyed my stay, didn't know what to expect but the staff was really helpful and friendly, and in the morning breakfast was good and the conversation with the staff and other guests was good making you not wanting to leave
Great lovely staff, free real breakfast, clean facilities, cosy place
Sometimes noisy in big dorms
tea and coffee facilities 24 hours no extra charge! Internet access 24 hours no extra charge. Clean and comfy bedroom facilities.
bedroom door didn't lock securely.
Loved the chilled out atmosphere and the supreme friendliness of the staff here. Everyone was so nice and there was never any problem giving advice on where to go or what to do. The hostel manager put on a BBQ during a big football game and then invited everyone to eat his hamburgers... super nice! The all-day coffee and breakfast is a total bonus and again part of charming laid back-ness here. Location is also fantastic... everything is super close, within walking distance of all the main sites. Also I hate the hostels with creaky Ikea bunk beds...if there are two people the whole thing shakes if anyone even takes a deep breath. While the bunks here are not shake-free, they are certainly pretty solid. Duvets, pillows, mattresses all comfortable. The availability of lockers was also a total bonus and the wireless worked perfectly and 24 hours. There were lots of nice touches in the bedrooms, like bedside tables...the kind of thing you don't get everywhere. Kitchen facilities, TV, outdoor area were also ace.
Basically, if you like your hostels super-sterile and overly organised and you don’t want to talk to fellow travellers too much, this may not be the place for you. It's a bit rough round the edges. And to be honest, there may actually not be enough bathrooms for everyone if the place was really full (it was not while we were there, so we didn't have that problem). But IMHO that is also part of the charm and character and the chilled out atmosphere. Everything runs fine and a little mess is more than compensated for by the interesting and friendly characters here and the characterful place. It's like when you see advertising for those big hostels and they go on about their bars and how everyone has lots of fun there...well, this is the genuine article.
Kev and the boys at the Embassie are brilliant-good craic!
Had a great stay, great staff, excellent value for money. Warm showers, clean beds and a friendly environment. Kitchen with oven, kettle, microwave, basically everything you could want. would definitely stay again. Thanks!
Lovely staff Friendly environment between guests Comfy and Clean Helped us with forgot towels etc. So lovely! :)
Breakfast, toasts, jam, juice free
There was a Polish woman who was working in the hostel and who was sleeping in the same room as guests, she turned on the light at 5am and made too much noise in the room when we were sleeping. The Polish worker should be more considerate with the guests.
The best thing about Embassie is a home-like atmosphere and great hospitality of the owners. You can feel relaxed and free there. The place itself is clean and comfy and it's situated in a quiet neighbourhood but at It's definitely worth recommending !
Mr. Kevin Seniour, the owner of the hostel is amazing!!!! Gives free tours about The Beatles on thursdays and he is simply so nice! Always telling stories It is a very "home" feeling to stay there
Everything was great! I felt like at home, it was cossy and quiet. There is a kitchen, where you can cook and bread, jams, coffee and tea are available any time of the day. The owner is very friendly :)
The owner of the hostel is a very friendly person, willing to assist and help in any question or query you might have. He really makes you feel you're home and you do have access to the kitchen 24/7. You really feel you're just chilling out at your own place. The location is very good; the hostel is located in a very quiet street yet you probably need 15-20 minute walk to the city center. The guests were also very friendly. While this might not always be the case, it seems this hostel attracts like-minded people and offers a friendly and comfortable atmosphere to spend 2-3 days in Liverpool.
The hostel is clean but can do slightly better. The bathrooms and showers were clean most of the time but it happened that I went there a couple of times and saw the garbage completely full. During the first night, there were some noisy guests, but that's again just a bad luck and doesn't mean it's going to be the case all the time.
