This is a very cozy Guest House. They are very friendly and helpful. The bedroom is spacious and quite comfortable. The English breakfast is very tasteful and well served. The location is excelente: it is necessary to walk 15 min at maximum to go to train station, RSC Theatres, restaurants and touristic attractions. My wife and I loved it.
Great place to stay when visiting Stratford, very close to the town and the Theartres. Friendly and helpful owners. Will be staying there again next year to use as a base. for visiting surrounding areas.
The owners were so accommodating and nice!! I recommend!!!
Central location Ultra-friendly staff Delicious breakfast Sensible parking arrangement
Iron bedstead - too short, kept banging feet on end frame!
very welcoming an helpful. comprehensive breakfast choice well presented and cooked .homemade preserves and cookies comfortable bed ,pristine linen
rather steep stairs to 2nd floor bedroom, but were warned in advance
My wife and I have just spent 5 nights at the Emsley. It's easy to see why it has so many excellent reviews - a very high standard B&B ! Upon arrival, a pot of tea or coffee, and there's a plentiful supply in the rooms, along with delicious homemade shortcake biscuits. A well-equipped room (5 days worth of clothes and still everything was unpacked), including the shower room/toilet. Probably the best breakfasts we have had - my wife's omlettes were super and my 'English breakfast' consistently well cooked and plentiful. A well-stocked selection of juices and cereals completes the great start to the day. Plenty of helpful advice, and fully stocked with tourist info. There's even a voucher for a discount at a local restaurant. Friendly, highly organised and a very well run, perfectly positioned B & B.
1st rate service. Nothing was too much trouble!
Brilliant hosts, fabulous breakfast with lovely homemade jams, marmalade and biscuits! Lovely rooms which were spotless and really well equipped. We will definitely be back!
Lovely people - they cannot do enough for you - fresh cup of tea made for me when I arrived. Breakfasts are outstanding and made to feel so welcome
Breakfast excellent . Wi fi reception excellent . Pleasant proprietors.
Musty smell in in room window opening helped.

Great breakfast great location and nice owners.
shower pressure was poor
Very clean, friendly, excellently breakfast.
Very expensive for type of accommodation. Expected luxury for high price but room was fairly basic- ok but certainly not furnished to highest standard.
Very helpful, friendly and welcoming. Great family room. Would definitely visit again.
Location and friendly welcome. Nice breakfast. Comfy bed.
Bathroom in York room. Shower and toilet too close making access awkward
Good location; Very friendly & helpful owners; Good breakfast;
Very good location, just a few minutes walk from the railway station. Very nice, considerate and helpful hosting family. They did whatever they could to help to find necessary info we needed as tourists to this city. Nice breakfast. My 11-year-old daughter likes the stay in Emsley! So do I and my husband. It's a home-like stay.
Everything was perfect except that the stair to the roof room is a bit too steep.
The rooms, the breakfasts and the hosts!! We will be back!
Excellent, friendly, personal accommodation right near the centre of town.
The bed was a little short, and the hot water ran out on my partner.
Great location, only a few minutes walk from most of Stratford .Great breakfast, quality ingredients. Very friendly proprietors.
From the moment we entered the Emsley Guest House, we were made to feel at home and very welcome. The room, which was decorated beautifully, was very comfortable and roomy for a family of four or five. We had the use of not just one, but two bathrooms, and they were both very clean and had wonderful free toiletries. Our rooms, which were immaculate when we arrived, were cleaned again after the first night and the attention to detail was lovely and appreciated. Our two daughters loved it here! Breakfast was very nice and there was more than enough to eat and served everyday with a smile and a kind word. The location of the guest house was fantastic, very close to the train station and to all the main sights in town. And good double glazing cut out the noise of the street for a good nights sleep. I would highly recommend this guest house to all my friends and family, as the owners were so kind and friendly.
Short walk to train station and Stratford-Upon-Avon sights Clean room with thoughtful touches Good breakfast Room was quiet despite being on a busy street
Room was very small Steep staircase (no lift)
Ray & Mel were very friendly - just the right amount of support and contact when needed. The 5-bed room we stay in was well equipped, well decorated and very comfortable - felt like there was enough space for the whole family (and our instruments!). Breakfast was served at the time we ordered it, and was delicious. Location was also perfect: only 5 minutes from the centre of Stratford, and free parking in the car park across the road. We are all looking forward to returning to The Elmsley.
You will find it hard to find a better guest house. We were at the Emsley during a heatwave and had a room at the top of the house. Even so the fact that there were two modern tower fans in the room made our stay comfortable. The bedroom was immaculately clean and well supplied with soap, shampoo, body lotion and the extra plus of make up removing serviettes. There was plenty of tea, coffee and drinking chocolate. Plus absolutely delicious homemade biscuits. The breakfast had a very varied menu and ample assortment of cereals etc. An extra plus was the fact that even the cherries in the fresh fruit salad had been stoned. The breakfast was served on tables covered with pristine white tablecloths and matching serviettes. The homemade marmalade and jams were served in glass pots instead of the usual plastic individual portions - again, the extra mile. The proprietors were friendly and helpful. This guesthouse deserves five stars.
