Score from 70 reviews Wonderful
I liked the size of the room The landscape of the house was ideal. It was very clean. The staff where superb. It is local to Ayr as we where attending the races. Staff gave us tips where to eat out and local taxi services. Breakfast was great brilliant quality.
Was a noisy in the early morning woken up by a Rooster and cows in the field opposite. Farmers arriving to attend to animals.
Loved everything about Enterkine House Hotel, including the Highland Cows nearby. Really nice farmhouse in the country, welcoming, and very accommodating!
Very thin walls hear every thing in the other rooms. No wifi even though it's advertised
The space in the rooms and the hotel in general! Breakfast was brilliant
Great room. Friendly staff.
Friendly and helpful staff. Good shower
No wifi in the room. Slow service at breakfast. Complaint about food not addressed properly. Very noisy fridge in studio room.
We were put in Kirk House, a short walk from the main hotel. The location was lovely as were the staff, they couldn't have been more helpful. The bed was comfortable and large and the room was warm with terrific 'blackout' curtains.
Many rooms are in Kirk House, a short but significant walk to the main hotel, in our case in the pouring rain. There was no wifi in our room or in Kirk House (and little phone signal, beware!) which meant it was difficult to organise complex travel plans for the Commonwealth games. There was no direct telephone line to the hotel from Kirk House and no-one picked up the normal number late at night, so late night service on return (12pm), including picking up our bottle of wine we'd left in the fridge, was not possible, and the main door of the hotel locked. The breakfast was fair but some disappointing coffee and a rather old, discoloured bowl of fruit salad swimming in water (just water) put us off dining there at any other time.
Our room was just beautiful , with a hugh balcony , the view was outstanding . In my next visit u would like to try the lodge cabbin as it is absolutly out sranding .
For me the food was not really to my taste as i am fussy eater , so in my opinion u would like more options pasta ect , but my husband love it .
Food was excellent
Despite booking into Enterkine House we were put into a small room in a ground floor cottage annexe 300m away in a farmyard where there was little privacy and passers by could look straight into our room. Bathroom was very small for a "luxury" hotel and shower poor.
The Hotel is close enough to the coast for days out but far enough away from the hustle and bustle. The bedrooms are large and beautifully furnished and all of the public rooms are also lovely. The staff are very helpful and great for recommending places to visit. You will enjoy bird songs in the evenings and there are some good country walks nearby. The wifi strength is a bit weak but it works and the house and surroundings are so peaceful and relaxing that you won't miss being connected. The breakfasts are freshly prepared and there is a full range of options all served in a dining room overlooking the garden. The rooms are fully stocked with toiletries, hot and cold drinks and homemade shortbread. All of the soft furnishings are of a high quality. I had a wonderful stay and will definitely return.
I have stayed in the main building of Enterkine House on a previous occasion and the experience was excellent. The food has been excellent on both visits.
On this occasion we stayed in Kirk House and unfortunately the experience was not so good. 1. The ensuite facilities are cramped. 2. The noise from other rooms was quite noticeable. The rooms on the upper floor should have fitted carpets installed which would help to deaden the noise of the other residents. 3. The price does not reflect these negatives and in my opinion really should!
The peaceful surroundings. There is always a spot to have some quiet time, The driveway is now in much better repair .
There is nothing in this category for us.
I liked it because of it's beautiful location, the helpful and considerate staff, the comfort and the excellent food
We loved everything. What a find, Enterkine is a little gem. The perfect escape, peace and quiet and wonderful walks. Dinner was the best we've had in ages. Special mention to Fiona who looked after us from start to finish. An absolute breath of fresh air, room, staff, food, location, etc, etc. all amazing. We will be back, please can we have the same room - Mackay.
There was absolutely nothing we didn't like.
The very warm initial very personal greeting which continued throughout our stay. I really liked the homely feel to the whole hotel
There was nothing I didn't like.
Rooms were very dated. Food was selective Would not return as it's not for young couples in my opinion
