The hotel is largely run down, with peeling wallpaper and 70's decor with area's where it was clear renovations had started. However my room was top quality on the 5th floor clearly undergone some recent refurbishment. Service in the restaurant was very slow and not attentive, but the quality of the food could not be faulted. The bar was poorly stocked with two choices of whisky, strange for a stay in Scotland. Many of the fridges in the bar area where completely empty! A little odd. |

we had a very relaxing overnight stay en route to the highlands and the views of the river and bridge were lovely, would definitely use the hotel in the future. |

Friendly staff. Breakfast buffet. Some rooms have been re-furbished along with public areas.Ask for new rooms as old ones are very shabby. |

The location was helpful and would be a good stopping point for those travelling to the Loch Lomond area and beyond. But really only a one-place to stay one night. The hotel looks and feels tired. A general upgrade of public rooms and bedrooms could make the hotel much more attractive. The exterior too looks unimpressive and much more could be done to landscape the immediate surroundings |

It was a good centre for our requirements, easy to find, relaxing and generally quiet. Bedroom was too warm, even after turning radiator off and sleeping with the window open. |

The staff were friendly and my room had recently been refurbished the view from the room was great The room was not very warm and when asked the staff said the heating was on but as it was snowing outside it got colder as the night went on. |

Excellent staff, good service, the refurbishment is progressing well, good breakfasts At the moment whilst refurb is ongoing there is some disruption and the standard of rooms vary. The new rooms are great but the older ones are dated. Once the work is complete all rooms will be excellent. The bar menu is a bit spartan but good value whereas the rstaurant menu is extensive but dear. ( a steak costs between 18.95 - 22.95 with just a few chips and salad dressing) |

The credit crunch deal was all inclusive and had coach facilities to Braehead Shopping Centre and Escape. The quality of food on Saturday nite was excellent. Service was slow on Saturday night and we did not all get our main meal to eat together. The vegetarian meal was served after we had all finished ours. Signature role was dated with horrible stained bath and bath mat. |

Staff very helpful and polite, breakfast excellent, could not do enough for us. Will be back. On our first visit - 6th January- room had been upgraded and new mattress on the bed - excellent, on our return visit on the 21st January, room was still to be upgraded, bed uncomfortable and the cold water tap in the wash hand basin was not working. |

I liked the attitude of the all the staff. Friendly & helpful. The exception was the front desk who got the information re directions and the leisure centre wrong. I like that you allowed dogs with very no fuss and no extra charge. Many things were good. Immediate service. Breakfast & dining staff. Linnen in bedroom very clean and bathroom - thankfully. I am sorry to say that I felt the hotel was shabby to the point of being a little bit grotty. The leisure facility had peeling paint, and mould - general grottiness. The bedroom had ripped curtains and burnt and torn lampshade. No central light. hallway and bar - generally rundown. |
