Location and the splender of the House. Matress in the room was of poor quality. T.V to small for the room and not what you would expect when paying £140 per night. The house lacked atmosphere. Food very expensive then to have your desert burnt and still no appology and still charged for. Not what I would have expected for a 120 pound meal !!!!

Fantastic location for the sights of Northumberland, but with easy access to Newcastle. Friendly yet professional staff. Comfort and grandeur. Good breakfast selection. Beautiful grounds.

This hotel is beautiful and the staff were wonderful also. The grounds are so lovely and we enjoyed watching the red squirrels. The food was great and all the extra little touches made our stay that little bit more special. We would definately recommend and will definately return. A real find.

Comfortable hotel. No bar of soap in the bathroom, only shampoo and shower gel. Some of the cuisine was peculiar, 'mustard ice cream' as an amuse buche did not work, neither did the desert of apple and rhubard crumble. All apple, undetactable rhubarb and crumble.

A wonderful place to stay and eat.Excellent service from all of the staff, and the food(despite it's cost) was the best we've ever had. Even at double the price we paid, it would have still been good value for money. Really hope we can go again one day. Also, good access to local towns/castles/ beaches.Just be aware this is not a cheap option though. It costs a little more than some others, but the quality is superb! Nothing at all.We should have stayed longer.

Food excellent, service very good, tried cooked b/fast and also kippers which were botth excellent. Had a meal in restaurant one night and this was first class for quality of food and service. Relaxing in the drawing room by the open fire, watching the red squirrels on a morning, friendly relaxed people.

Beautiful country house location that had been restored to a high standard of comfort with modern bathrooms. Staff were very pleasant and helpful but not stuffy or pushy. Food was very good Only thing that was slightly annoying was the fact that the internet didn't work on both days and nobody did anything about it. Bedroom was a bit cool on one of the nights.. and didn't understand how the thermometer worked...

This was the best hotel we have ever stayed at. The service was above and beyond the usual. You were made to feel special and my Gluten Free diest was really well catered for. The rooms were amazing and the food was to die for.

Very helpful staff-fabulous meal for dinner in hotel restaurant-room beautifully finished-?recently renovated but in keeping with lovely old house-very comfortable, attractive communal sitting roomdownstairs Couldn't get heating to work in bathroom(rather large room which even in mid-May could have benefited from being warmer) -quality of shower fitting not in keeping with rest of the room and bathroom-? cheap adjustable shower rose which would not adjust to a nice even poweful shower.Breakfast was quite satisfactory although nothing special (after the amazing evening meal-was expecting more but not unhappy with what we got)

The location was first class, the style of the country house gave an insight into country living. The quality of the food was excellent. The lack of a designated bar area was off putting but did not spoil the visit.

The sheer family run friendliness, comfort and excellent food. It has a 5 star AA rating but there is no pretentiousness and it has a very homely and peaceful atmosphere. It was as if you were staying in a country manor as guests of honour. We enjoyed everything.

Eshott hall has great staff, the rooms and dining are extremely well accomodated and are extremely helpful. You couldnt ask for a better place to stay for a couple of days quiet retreat. Eshott Hall is a wonderful hotel, my first nights stay was great and I have nothing to complain about. But on my second night I was kept awake until 2 in the morning by the noise of other hotel guests. It would have been nice for the hotel staff to have done something about the excessive noise/music and loud chatter outside my door.

The food was superb and the service from the staff was outstanding. They were especially good with my 87 year old mother in law and thier patience was much appreciated. The rooms we had were very conveniently situauted next door to each other and the furnishings were of a very high standard. The experiences of sitting next to a blazing fire in the library in the evening and taking cofee in the beautiful drawing room before we left were the icing on the cake for my mother in law. Nothing to criticise about Eshott Hall. However, we believed that we were making a saving when we made our booking. However it looks as if we would have saved money had we booked bed, breakfast and evening meal directly through the hotel.

The staff were first class, the meal excellent and the location was quiet and relaxing. The room was comfortable. Unfortunately we found the bath full of hair which is a big no no for me and my wife, this was attended too on request. We did not get the same room that was shown on our booking form the room we had was much smaller.
