Clean, well organised, good food, good parking facilities, good access to shops

I stayed at the Eskdale Lodge around a year ago and had a lovely stay so re-booked as I was in the area again. I'm pleased to say that the hotel is just as lovely the second time round, I stayed in the same room as before and they also have a new En-Suite. The breakfast is fantastic. The hotel offers nice rooms, a lovely atmosphere and two bars that serve food. Once again I felt completely at home here, and they also allowed me to stay in the bar area with my laptop while awaiting my partner to come back from his studio time. Wouldn't think twice about staying again.

The Eskdale Lodge was a lovely old place with plenty of character and the staff were very helpful and friendly. It was spotlessly clean and great value for money.

I traveled with my friend and we were given a twin room on the top floor. Even though the heating was on it was freezing. Be aware that there aren't any lifts, so be careful if you're not good with stairs.

A good competitive price for the area. Pleasant rooms with everything you'd need at a good budget price - tea/coffee making facilities, free WIFI, toiletries etc.

The hotel was well managed and in particular the standard of room upkeep. The food was also excellent.

No phone in the room.

We loved everything about this hotel from the building its self to the beautiful bathroom. We got upgraded to a bigger room due to a cancellation with no extra charge. The room was spacious, spotless and very quiet for sleeping. The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful sorting our taxi for us. We didn't try the food as we went out all evening, but other guests we spoke to said it was wonderful. I can definitely recommend this hotel.

Eskdale lodge was very friendly all the staff could not do enough for you, they made us feel very welcome and was aware of our needs through our stay

We were very pleased with our family room - very clean and proper beds for the kids rather than camp beds. My son has Coeliacs disease so cannot eat gluten and they were very accommodating in getting him some food for breakfast that he could eat.

It was slightly more than we expected to pay but on the whole we were very pleased. Thank you Eskdale lodge.

Good car parking, good quite location, near to city centre and shopping/sport amenities. Friendly staff, good food and high standard of helpful service. Clean, well-decorated, good facilities, comfortable bedrooms with lots of hot water.

Low-energy lightbulbs made light power low. Better reading light needed by bed at least. Cold tap in basin ensuite emitted brown water - needs a plumber to investigate. Window difficult to open for ventilation.

Excellent staff, friendly and helpful. Lovely food and drinks prices that you don't have to take a mortgage on! Accommodation is clean, spacious and very comfortable and the cooked breakfast was top-drawer.

Very friendly people and the room was comfortable would stay again we left early as had a family emergency otherwise we might have stayed for breakfast.
