it needs some updating
the location was ok and view very good
Great location staff excellent
The dining room needs attention as well as breakfast dining experience, not good but staff were extremely obliging but overworked. Better if cereal and juices were buffets style to give staff a chance to take orders and deliver them without it feeling all rushed.
Staff were brilliant and the room was very clean and comfortable. The sea view was gorgeous........very relaxing.
Comfy and clean room, helpfulness of staff. Nice breakfast
The hotel's location and bar
Lovely large, bright room with great sea views. Quiet spot on sea front away from main road. Close to ferry terminal and shops. Friendly and helpful staff. Large first floor balcony to watch the world go by and the sun going down.
small TV and no Tv guide
5 star service, very clean and comfortable
Breakfast was spoilt by awful music played at high volume .Considering the age of the guests (60+) something more gentle would have been appreciated.
our bedroom had a lovely modern bathroom with a really good shower and was tastefully furnished.
Fabulous views - well worth paying the extra for large superior front facing room. Staff very helpful and attentive.
Very quiet location-the staff were friendly.
Arriving at the hotel via the back door doesn't give a great first impression however everything gets better following this minor issue.
Fantastic helpful and cheerful staff. Great food and service. Some rooms newly updated, some a bit dated but still cosy and exceptionally clean. Compliments to the housekeeping staff. Good evening entertainment, so no need to leave the hotel after dark.
Our experience here still seems surreal. Tight hallways that go on forever, up stairs, down stairs, through large rooms. There was no sense to it and I worried if there were a fire, could we figure out how to get out. Head of bed lower than the foot, "upgraded" to a sea view room whose windows howled with the wind and thin curtains could not block out lights shining up from the lawn onto the hotel sign. Tub was chipped and rusted. Surprised at booking.com even offering it. Goes against the message in all their commercials.
Should have stayed longer
Everything, but we did have front facing room !!!
Helpfully staff very friendly.Comfortable surroundings lovely to sit outside watching the sunset . Clean and comfortable room definitely recommend it . Best location and view in town so near bus terminal and ferry .
Stay too short!
Lovely room with sea view. Bathroom with bath and shower. Good breakfast.
Everything.could nog have been better
Great location close to the passenger ferry terminal and city centre. Well kept garden with lovely views out over the water. Clean and well-decorated room with very comfortable bed. Helpful staff. Tasty breakfast
First impressions were dull, as vehicular access is to the rear of hotel where the car park is. ( the front of the hotel leads directly onto the promenade and has no vehicle access)
My room must have been recently refurbished as everything seemed brand spanking new. Breakfast was very good and staff most polite, friendly, and efficient.
Curtains not completely dark hence sunlight could still come in
Window view facing sea, generous second helping during inclusive breakfast, helpful staff at reception as well as restaurant/cafe
Parking very difficult esp as we came back late. No hot water in the morning because of a boiler problem.
After many buffet breakfasts in other hotels, it was a pleasure to have a menu and be served (very quickly). Lovely outdoor areas to enjoy the wonderful view.
We have never met such great staff. Nothing was too much trouble. We were staying there to travel to the Commonwealth Games. One morning we had a very early start and the evening before a whole 'breakfast buffet' was brought to our room to allow us to eat before we left. Whole bottles of juice and milk, grapefruit, bread and even a toaster. A great location to visit other areas. We were originally shown to quite a small room but after asking for a new room we were given one that was much better. Be prepared for some coaches but that didn't detract at all. The Scottish evening was great with our own Bagpipe player, Scottish dancers and haggis!
Bed was uncomfortable Hotel looks tired
Location Staff Friendliness Area for Relaxing
This hotel is in desperate need of refurbishment. The decor is very '80's and the furniture is falling apart. I stayed one night only thank goodness as there was no hot water in my room, nor in a friends along the corridor. Breakfast was awful and it felt like it was too much trouble for the waiter to serve us!
Location was fabulous with fantastic views of the river Clyde
Very warm in bedroom. Shower in room was tiny and shower tray was losing its ceramic coating
Location is great. Staff are lovely especially our little asian waitress. She was really smiley. Breakfast is superb. Reception staff are lovely. Rooms are well decorated.
The dinner menu was quite basic and portion size was really small but massively overcharged (3 course meal for £20).
The room we stayed was on the top floor, the carpet was light cream and the room decor was very bright and delightful, we don't like dark green carpet for example! The seaview from the room was fantastic. Overall good value for money, will book again.
